  5. Each one should remain in the condition in which he was called.

  8. which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it,
  9. The Resurrection of Christ

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand,
  10. and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
  11. I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day!
  12. who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
  13. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer.
  14. Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end,
  15. and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.
  16. for I know your readiness, of which I boast about you to the people of Macedonia, saying that Achaia has been ready since last year. And your zeal has stirred up most of them.

  24. making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ
  25. having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
  26. which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
  27. in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—
  28. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
  29. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
  30. One in Christ

Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands—
  31. which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.
  32. Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God's grace, which was given me by the working of his power.
  33. So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.
  34. Unity in the Body of Christ

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,
  35. from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
  36. to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,
  37. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
  38. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;
  39. and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
  40. for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
  41. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.
  42. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
  43. and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—
  44. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  45. which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth,
  46. if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.
  47. of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known,
  48. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
  49. that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ,
  50. having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.
  51. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
  52. and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
  53. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
  54. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
  55. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—
  56. that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
  57. And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.
  58. The Judgment at Christ's Coming

This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering—
  59. nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith.
  60. desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.

  62. who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
  63. if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.

  66. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
  67. which he will display at the proper time—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
  68. thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
  69. For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,
  70. who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,
  71. and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
  72. for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher,
  73. which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.

  79. Greeting

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness,
  80. in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began
  81. and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior;
  82. For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”?
  83. And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?
  84. The Founder of Salvation

For it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking.
  85. so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.
  86. For the one of whom these things are spoken belonged to another tribe, from which no one has ever served at the altar.
  87. (for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.
  88. For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever.
  89. For a tent was prepared, the first section, in which were the lampstand and the table and the bread of the Presence. It is called the Holy Place.
  90. having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden urn holding the manna, and Aaron's staff that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.
  91. but into the second only the high priest goes, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the unintentional sins of the people.
  92. (which is symbolic for the present age). According to this arrangement, gifts and sacrifices are offered that cannot perfect the conscience of the worshiper,
  93. For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.
  94. And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
  95. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?
  96. Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
  97. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.

  100. Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
  101. If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
  102. Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
  103. Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.
  104. We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat.
  105. equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
  106. Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
  107. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
  108. Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?
  109. Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which you were called?
  110. Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.
  111. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.

  114. in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison,
  115. because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.
  116. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
  117. by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
  118. And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,
  119. But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction,
  120. waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!
  121. But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
  122. as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.
  123. The Word of Life

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—
  124. the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—
  125. that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
  126. whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
  127. At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
  128. and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
  129. just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
  130. Prologue

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
  131. Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
  132. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’
  133. “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
  134. The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
  135. The Throne in Heaven

After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
  136. From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God,
  137. And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
  138. And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
  139. The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk,
  140. and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days.
  141. The Seven Angels with Seven Plagues

Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.
  142. This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated;
  143. “The fruit for which your soul longed has gone from you, and all your delicacies and your splendors are lost to you, never to be found again!”
  144. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.
  145. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
  146. And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
  147. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.
  148. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
  149. He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel's measurement.
  150. and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
