  16. Dorcas Restored to Life

    Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.

  24. Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
  25. And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
  26. And desiring to know the charge for which they were accusing him, I brought him down to their council.
  27. By examining him yourself you will be able to find out from him about everything of which we accuse him.”
  28. But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets,
  29. having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust.
  30. If then I am a wrongdoer and have committed anything for which I deserve to die, I do not seek to escape death. But if there is nothing to their charges against me, no one can give me up to them. I appeal to Caesar.”
