  1. Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”

  8. And the Lord turned the wind into a very strong west wind, which lifted the locusts and drove them into the Red Sea. Not a single locust was left in all the country of Egypt.
  9. “Then they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it.
  10. The Feast of Unleavened Bread

    Then Moses said to the people, “Remember this day in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of slavery, for by a strong hand the Lord brought you out from this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten.
  11. And when the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, you shall keep this service in this month.
  12. And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.
  13. You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain, the place, O Lord, which you have made for your abode, the sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established.
  14. saying, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.”
  15. Bread from Heaven

    They set out from Elim, and all the congregation of the people of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had departed from the land of Egypt.
  16. Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, which is a Sabbath, there will be none.”
  17. Moses said, “This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Let an omer of it be kept throughout your generations, so that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.’”
  18. And the Lord said to Moses, “Pass on before the people, taking with you some of the elders of Israel, and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.
  19. and you shall warn them about the statutes and the laws, and make them know the way in which they must walk and what they must do.
  20. But if he did not lie in wait for him, but God let him fall into his hand, then I will appoint for you a place to which he may flee.
  21. For every breach of trust, whether it is for an ox, for a donkey, for a sheep, for a cloak, or for any kind of lost thing, of which one says, ‘This is it,’ the case of both parties shall come before God. The one whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.
  22. And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites from before you.
  23. The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.”
  24. And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold.
  25. And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain.
  26. They shall eat those things with which atonement was made at their ordination and consecration, but an outsider shall not eat of them, because they are holy.
  27. The Altar of Incense

    “You shall make an altar on which to burn incense; you shall make it of acacia wood.
  28. And you shall make two golden rings for it. Under its molding on two opposite sides of it you shall make them, and they shall be holders for poles with which to carry it.
  29. with which Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet.
  30. But now go, lead the people to the place about which I have spoken to you; behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I visit, I will visit their sin upon them.”
  31. The Command to Leave Sinai

    The Lord said to Moses, “Depart; go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘To your offspring I will give it.’
  32. The Tent of Meeting

    Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.
  33. Moses Makes New Tablets

    The Lord said to Moses, “Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.
  34. Take care, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you go, lest it become a snare in your midst.
  35. And he made the vessels of pure gold that were to be on the table, its plates and dishes for incense, and its bowls and flagons with which to pour drink offerings.
  36. and made two rings of gold on it under its molding, on two opposite sides of it, as holders for the poles with which to carry it.
  37. with which Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet.
