耶穌差遣十二使徒

10 耶穌叫了十二個門徒來，給他們權柄，能趕逐汙鬼，並醫治各樣的病症。

2 這十二使徒的名：頭一個叫西門，又稱彼得，還有他兄弟安得烈，西庇太的兒子雅各和雅各的兄弟約翰， 3 腓力和巴多羅買，多馬和稅吏馬太，亞勒腓的兒子雅各，和達太， 4 奮銳黨的西門，還有賣耶穌的加略人猶大。

5 耶穌差這十二個人去，吩咐他們說：「外邦人的路你們不要走，撒馬利亞人的城你們不要進， 6 寧可往以色列家迷失的羊那裡去。 7 隨走隨傳，說『天國近了』。 8 醫治病人，叫死人復活，叫長大痲瘋的潔淨，把鬼趕出去。你們白白地得來，也要白白地捨去。 9 腰袋裡不要帶金銀銅錢， 10 行路不要帶口袋，不要帶兩件褂子，也不要帶鞋和拐杖，因為工人得飲食是應當的。 11 你們無論進哪一城、哪一村，要打聽那裡誰是好人，就住在他家，直住到走的時候。 12 進他家裡去，要請他的安。 13 那家若配得平安，你們所求的平安就必臨到那家；若不配得，你們所求的平安仍歸你們。 14 凡不接待你們、不聽你們話的人，你們離開那家或是那城的時候，就把腳上的塵土跺下去。 15 我實在告訴你們：當審判的日子，所多瑪和蛾摩拉所受的比那城還容易受呢！

警戒勉勵

16 「我差你們去，如同羊進入狼群，所以你們要靈巧像蛇，馴良像鴿子。 17 你們要防備人，因為他們要把你們交給公會，也要在會堂裡鞭打你們， 18 並且你們要為我的緣故被送到諸侯君王面前，對他們和外邦人作見證。 19 你們被交的時候，不要思慮怎樣說話或說什麼話，到那時候必賜給你們當說的話； 20 因為不是你們自己說的，乃是你們父的靈在你們裡頭說的。

服侍主之艱難

21 「弟兄要把弟兄，父親要把兒子，送到死地；兒女要與父母為敵，害死他們。 22 並且你們要為我的名被眾人恨惡，唯有忍耐到底的，必然得救。 23 有人在這城裡逼迫你們，就逃到那城裡去。我實在告訴你們：以色列的城邑你們還沒有走遍，人子就到了。

學生不能高過先生

24 「學生不能高過先生，僕人不能高過主人。 25 學生和先生一樣，僕人和主人一樣，也就罷了。人既罵家主是別西卜[a]，何況他的家人呢？ 26 所以不要怕他們，因為掩蓋的事沒有不露出來的，隱藏的事沒有不被人知道的。 27 我在暗中告訴你們的，你們要在明處說出來；你們耳中所聽的，要在房上宣揚出來。 28 那殺身體不能殺靈魂的，不要怕他們；唯有能把身體和靈魂都滅在地獄裡的，正要怕他。 29 兩個麻雀不是賣一分銀子嗎？若是你們的父不許，一個也不能掉在地上。 30 就是你們的頭髮，也都被數過了。 31 所以，不要懼怕，你們比許多麻雀還貴重。 32 凡在人面前認我的，我在我天上的父面前也必認他； 33 凡在人面前不認我的，我在我天上的父面前也必不認他。

34 「你們不要想我來是叫地上太平，我來並不是叫地上太平，乃是叫地上動刀兵。 35 因為我來是叫『人與父親生疏，女兒與母親生疏，媳婦與婆婆生疏； 36 人的仇敵就是自己家裡的人』。 37 愛父母過於愛我的，不配做我的門徒；愛兒女過於愛我的，不配做我的門徒； 38 不背著他的十字架跟從我的，也不配做我的門徒。 39 得著生命的，將要失喪生命；為我失喪生命的，將要得著生命。

服侍主的賞賜

40 「人接待你們，就是接待我；接待我，就是接待那差我來的。 41 人因為先知的名接待先知，必得先知所得的賞賜；人因為義人的名接待義人，必得義人所得的賞賜。 42 無論何人，因為門徒的名，只把一杯涼水給這小子裡的一個喝，我實在告訴你們：這人不能不得賞賜。」

Jesús envía a los doce

10 Jesús reunió a sus doce discípulos y les dio autoridad para echar fuera espíritus malignos y para sanar toda clase de enfermedades y dolencias. 2 Los doce apóstoles eran:

Simón, también llamado Pedro; Andrés, hermano de Pedro; Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo; Juan, hermano de Jacobo; 3 Felipe; Bartolomé; Tomás; Mateo, cobrador de impuestos; Jacobo, hijo de Alfeo; Tadeo; 4 Simón, miembro de los zelotes, y Judas Iscariote, el que más tarde lo traicionó.

5 A estos doce Jesús los envió y les dio las siguientes instrucciones:

«No vayan a los que no son judíos ni a los samaritanos. 6 Limítense a visitar a las ovejas perdidas del pueblo de Israel.

7 »Anúncienles que el reino de los cielos ya se ha acercado.

8 »Curen enfermos, resuciten muertos, sanen leprosos y echen fuera demonios. De la misma manera que ustedes están recibiendo este poder gratuitamente, tampoco cobren por sus servicios. 9 No lleven dinero 10 ni bolsa con comida; no lleven más túnicas ni más calzado que los que traen puestos, ni lleven bordón, porque las personas a las que ustedes ayuden tienen el deber de alimentarlos y cuidarlos. 11 Cuando lleguen a cualquier ciudad o pueblo, busquen a una persona de confianza y quédense en su casa hasta que se vayan a otro pueblo. 12 Y al entrar a la casa, den su bendición a los que allí viven. 13 Si ellos lo merecen, tendrán la paz que ustedes les desearon; pero si no lo merecen, no la tendrán. 14 Si en alguna ciudad u hogar no los reciben ni les hacen caso, salgan de allí y sacúdanse el polvo de los pies al salir. 15 Les aseguro que en el día del juicio, el castigo de Sodoma y Gomorra resultará mucho más tolerable que el castigo que caerá sobre aquella ciudad.

16 »Ustedes son como ovejas y los estoy enviando a meterse donde están los lobos. Sean prudentes como serpientes e inofensivos como palomas. 17 Pero tengan cuidado, porque los arrestarán y los azotarán en las sinagogas. 18 Y hasta tendrán que comparecer ante gobernadores y reyes por mi causa. Esto les brindará la oportunidad de hablarles de mí y de proclamarme ante el mundo.

19 »Cuando los arresten, no se preocupen por lo que vayan a decir en el juicio, porque en el momento oportuno se les pondrá en la boca lo que tengan que decir. 20 No serán ustedes los que hablen: ¡el Espíritu de su Padre hablará a través de ustedes!

21 »El hermano entregará a muerte a su hermano, los padres traicionarán a sus hijos y los hijos se levantarán contra sus padres y los matarán. 22 El mundo entero los va a odiar a ustedes por causa de mí, pero el que se mantenga fiel hasta el fin será salvo. 23 Cuando los persigan en una ciudad, huyan a otra. Les aseguro que no terminarán de recorrer todas las ciudades de Israel antes que yo haya regresado: 24 Ningún estudiante es más que su maestro, ni ningún siervo es mayor que su señor. 25 Es suficiente para el discípulo ser como su maestro y para el siervo como su señor. Y si a mí, que soy como el padre de familia, me llaman Beelzebú, ¿qué no les dirán a ustedes? 26 Pero no tengan miedo, porque pronto llegará la hora de la verdad y no habrá secreto que no se descubra. 27 Lo que les digo en la penumbra, proclámenlo a la luz del día; y lo que les susurro al oído, divúlguenlo desde las azoteas. 28 No teman a los que pueden matar el cuerpo pero no pueden tocar el alma. Sólo teman a Dios, que es el único que puede destruir alma y cuerpo en el infierno.

29 »¿Qué valen dos pajarillos? ¡Apenas unos centavos! Sin embargo, ni uno solo cae a tierra sin que el Padre lo permita. 30 Pues yo les digo que hasta el último cabello de ustedes está contado. 31 Así que no teman, que para Dios ustedes valen más que muchos pajarillos.

32 »Si alguno declara ante la gente que es mi seguidor, yo declararé a su favor ante mi Padre que está en los cielos. 33 Pero al que me niegue públicamente, también yo lo negaré delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos. 34 No crean que vine a traer paz a la tierra. ¡Vine a traer guerras!; 35 a poner al hijo contra su padre, a la hija contra su madre, a la nuera contra su suegra. 36 ¡Cada quien tendrá a sus peores enemigos en su propia casa! 37 El que ame a su padre o madre más que a mí, no es digno de ser mío; y el que ame a su hijo o hija más que a mí, no es digno de ser mío. 38 Y el que se niegue a tomar la cruz y seguirme, no es digno de ser mío. 39 El que se apegue demasiado a su vida, la perderá; pero el que renuncie a ella porque me ama, la salvará.

40 »El que los reciba a ustedes me estará recibiendo a mí; y el que me reciba está recibiendo al que me envió. 41 Quien reciba a un profeta por el hecho de que es profeta, recibirá la misma recompensa que reciben los profetas. Y quien reciba a un hombre justo sólo porque es justo, recompensa de justo recibirá. 42 Y el que le dé al más humilde de mis discípulos un vaso de agua por el simple hecho de que es mi discípulo recibirá su recompensa: esto se lo aseguro yo a ustedes».

Jesus Appoints the Twelve

10 (A)And summoning His twelve disciples, Jesus gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to (B)heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

2 (C)Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, (D)Simon, who is called Peter, and (E)Andrew his brother; and (F)James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 (G)Philip and [a]Bartholomew; (H)Thomas and (I)Matthew the tax collector; (J)James the son of Alphaeus, and (K)Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the [b]Zealot, and (L)Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Him.

The Twelve Disciples Sent Out

5 (M)These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them, saying, “Do not [c]go [d]in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the (N)Samaritans; 6 but rather go to (O)the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, [e]preach, saying, ‘(P)The kingdom of heaven [f]is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give. 9 (Q)Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, 10 or a [g]bag for your journey, or even two [h]tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for (R)the worker is worthy of his [i]support. 11 And whatever city or village you enter, inquire who is worthy in it, and stay there until you leave. 12 Now as you enter the [j]house, (S)give it your [k]greeting. 13 And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you leave that house or that city, (T)shake the dust off your feet. 15 Truly I say to you, (U)it will be more tolerable for the land of (V)Sodom and Gomorrah in (W)the day of judgment than for that city.

The Promise of Persecution

16 “(X)Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so [l]be (Y)shrewd as serpents and (Z)innocent as doves. 17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you over to the (AA)courts and flog you (AB)in their synagogues; 18 and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 (AC)But when they deliver you over, (AD)do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given to you in that hour what you are to say. 20 For (AE)it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

21 “(AF)And brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and (AG)children will rise up against parents and [m]cause them to be put to death. 22 (AH)And you will be hated by all because of My name, but (AI)it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

23 “But whenever they (AJ)persecute you in this city, flee to [n]the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel (AK)until the Son of Man comes.

The Meaning of Discipleship

24 “(AL)A [o]disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. (AM)If they have called the head of the house [p](AN)Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!

26 “Therefore do not (AO)fear them, (AP)for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. 27 (AQ)What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim (AR)upon the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather (AS)fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in [q](AT)hell. 29 (AU)Are not two sparrows sold for an [r]assarion? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But (AV)the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So do not fear; (AW)you are more valuable than many sparrows.

32 “Therefore (AX)everyone who [s]confesses Me before men, I will also confess [t]him before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But (AY)whoever [u]denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

34 “(AZ)Do not think that I came to [v]bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I came to (BA)set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36 and (BB)a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.

37 “(BC)He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And (BD)he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 (BE)He who has found his [w]life will lose it, and he who has lost his [x]life for My sake will find it.

The Reward of Service

40 “(BF)He who receives you receives Me, and (BG)he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 (BH)He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And (BI)whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these [y]little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.”
