² And Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber, which was in Samaria, and became ill. So he sent messengers and said to them, “Go, ^(A)inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, ^(B)whether I will live from this sickness.”

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man does not ^(A)cast out demons except by ^[a]Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.”

²⁷ And if I ^(A)by ^[a]Beelzebul cast out demons, ^(B)by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your judges.

²² And the scribes who came down ^(A)from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by ^[a](B)Beelzebul,” and “^(C)He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”

¹⁵ But some of them said, “He casts out demons ^(A)by ^(B)Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.”

¹⁸ But if ^(A)Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by ^(B)Beelzebul. ¹⁹ And if I by ^(C)Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason, they will be your judges.
