13 (A)И дигна се Аврам от Египет, той и жена му, и всичко, що имаше, и Лот с него, към юг.
2 (B)Аврам беше много богат с добитък, със сребро и със злато.
3 (C)И продължи пътуванията си от юг до Ветил, до мястото, гдето по-преди беше шатрата му, – между Ветил и Гай,
4 (D)до мястото на жертвеника, който бе там най-напред съградил; и там призова Аврам името Господне.
5 И Лот, който пътуваше с Аврама, също имаше дребен и едър добитък и шатри.
6 (E)И земята беше тясна за тях, за да живеят заедно, понеже имотът им беше тъй голям, че не можаха да живеят заедно.
7 (F)И стана караница между пастирите на Аврамовия добитък и пастирите на Лотовия добитък; в оная земя живееха тогава хананейци и ферезейци.
8 (G)И рече Аврам на Лота: не бива да има караница между мене и тебе, и между моите пастири и твоите, понеже сме роднина;
9 не е ли цялата земя пред тебе? отдели се от мене: ако идеш ти наляво, аз – надясно, ако пък ти – надясно, аз – наляво.
10 (H)Лот дигна очи и видя цялата околност Иорданска, която, преди Господ да съсипе Содом и Гомора, цяла до Сигор се напояваше с вода, като рая Божи, като Египетската земя;
11 и Лот си избра цялата Иорданска околност; и потегли Лот към изток. И тъй те се отделиха един от друг.
12 Аврам се настани в Ханаанската земя; а Лот се настани в градовете на околността и разпъна шатри до Содом.
13 (I)А содомските жители бяха лоши и много грешни пред Господа.
14 И рече Господ на Аврама, след като Лот се отдели от него: дигни очи и от мястото, дето си сега, погледни към север и юг, към изток и запад;
15 (J)защото цялата земя, която виждаш, на тебе ще я дам и на потомството ти довека;
16 (K)и ще направя потомството ти като земния пясък: ако някой може да изброи земния пясък, ще бъде изброено и твоето потомство;
17 стани, изходи тая земя надлъж и нашир, защото Аз на тебе ще я дам (и на потомството ти завинаги).
18 (L)И вдигна Аврам шатрата си, и отиде да се засели в дъбравата Мамрѐ, що е в Хеврон; и там съгради жертвеник Господу.

Abram and Lot Separate
13 So Abram went up from Egypt to (A)the [a]Negev, he and his wife and all that belonged to him, and Lot with him.
2 Now Abram was (B)very rich in livestock, in silver and in gold. 3 And he went [b]on his journeys from the [c]Negev as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, (C)between Bethel and Ai, 4 to the place of the (D)altar which he had made there formerly; and there Abram called upon the name of Yahweh.
5 Now (E)Lot, who was going with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. 6 And (F)the land could not [d]sustain them [e]while living together, (G)for their possessions were so abundant that they were not able to live together. 7 (H)And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. Now (I)the Canaanite and the Perizzite were living then in the land.
8 (J)So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brothers. 9 Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me; if to the left, then I will go to the right; or if to the right, then I will go to the left.” 10 Then Lot lifted up his eyes and saw all the [f](K)valley of the Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere—this was before Yahweh (L)destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah—like (M)the garden of Yahweh, (N)like the land of Egypt as you go to (O)Zoar. 11 So Lot chose for himself all the [g]valley of the Jordan, and Lot journeyed eastward. Thus they separated from each other. 12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived in (P)the cities of the [h]valley and moved his tents as far as Sodom. 13 Now (Q)the men of Sodom were evil and (R)sinners, exceedingly so, against Yahweh.
14 And Yahweh said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “(S)Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, (T)northward and southward and eastward and westward; 15 (U)for all the land which you see, (V)I will give it to you and to your seed forever. 16 And I will make your seed (W)as the dust of the earth, so that if anyone can number the dust of the earth, then your seed can also be numbered. 17 Arise, (X)walk about the land through its length and breadth; for (Y)I will give it to you.” 18 Then Abram moved his tent and came and lived by the [i](Z)oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and there he built (AA)an altar to Yahweh.
