Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
We Will Boast in the Name of Yahweh
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
20 May Yahweh answer you (A)in the day of distress!
May the (B)name of the (C)God of Jacob set you securely on high!
2 May He send you help (D)from the sanctuary
And (E)uphold you from Zion!
3 May He (F)remember all your meal offerings
And (G)find your burnt offering [a]acceptable! [b]Selah.
4 May He grant you your (H)heart’s desire
And (I)fulfill all your [c]counsel!
5 [d]We will (J)sing for joy over your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will (K)set up our banners.
May Yahweh (L)fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now (M)I know that Yahweh saves His anointed;
He will (N)answer him from His holy heaven
With the [e](O)saving might of His right hand.
7 Some boast in chariots and some in (P)horses,
But (Q)we will [f]boast in the name of Yahweh, our God.
8 They have (R)bowed down and fallen,
But we have (S)risen and stood upright.
9 [g](T)Save, O Yahweh;
May the (U)King answer us in the day we call.
Setting Up the Tabernacle
40 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “(A)On the first day of the first month you shall set up the [a]tabernacle of the tent of meeting. 3 (B)You shall place the ark of the testimony there, and you shall screen the ark with the veil. 4 You shall (C)bring in the table and [b](D)arrange what belongs on it; and you shall (E)bring in the lampstand and [c]mount its lamps. 5 Moreover, you shall (F)set the gold altar of incense before the ark of the testimony and set up the veil for the doorway to the tabernacle. 6 You shall set the altar of burnt offering in front of the doorway of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. 7 You shall (G)set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water [d]in it. 8 You shall set up the court all around and [e]hang up the screen for the gateway of the court. 9 Then you shall take the anointing oil and (H)anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it and set it apart as holy and all its [f]furnishings; and it shall be holy. 10 You shall anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and set the altar apart as holy, and (I)the altar shall be most holy. 11 You shall anoint the laver and its stand, and set it apart as holy. 12 Then you shall (J)bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting and wash them with water. 13 (K)You shall put the holy garments on Aaron and anoint him and set him apart as holy, that he may minister as a priest to Me. 14 You shall bring his sons and put tunics on them; 15 and you shall anoint them even as you have anointed their father, that they may minister as priests to Me; and their anointing will be for them for a (L)perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.”
A New and Living Way
19 Therefore, brothers, since we (A)have confidence to (B)enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by (C)a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through (D)the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and since we have (E)a great priest (F)over the house of God, 22 let us (G)draw near with a [a]sincere heart in (H)full assurance of faith, having our hearts (I)sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies (J)washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the (K)confession of our (L)hope without wavering, for (M)He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how (N)to stimulate one another to love and (O)good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own (P)assembling together, as is the habit of some, but (Q)encouraging one another, and all the more as you see (R)the day drawing near.
