Psalm 14

There Is No One Who Does Good

For the choir director. Of David.

14 The [a]wicked fool (A)says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They act corruptly, they commit abominable [b]deeds;
There is (B)no one who does good.
Yahweh (C)looks down from heaven upon the sons of men
To see if there is anyone who [c](D)has insight,
Anyone who (E)seeks after God.
They have all (F)turned aside, altogether they have become [d]worthless;
There is (G)no one who does good, not even one.

Do all the workers of iniquity (H)not know,
Who (I)eat up my people as they eat bread,
And (J)do not call upon Yahweh?
There they are in great dread,
For God is with the (K)righteous generation.
You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted,
But Yahweh is his (L)refuge.

Oh, that (M)the salvation of Israel [e]would come out of Zion!
When Yahweh [f](N)restores His captive people,
May Jacob rejoice, may Israel be glad.

2 Samuel 10:6-12

Then the sons of Ammon saw that (A)they had become odious to David. So the sons of Ammon sent and (B)hired the Arameans of (C)Beth-rehob and the (D)Arameans of Zobah, 20,000 foot soldiers, and the king of (E)Maacah with 1,000 men, and the men of Tob with 12,000 men. Then David heard of it and sent Joab and all the army, the mighty men. And the sons of Ammon came out and arranged themselves for battle (F)at the entrance of the gate of the city. But the Arameans of Zobah and of Rehob and the men of (G)Tob and Maacah were by themselves in the field.

David Defeats Ammon and Aram

Then Joab saw that [a]the battle was set against him from the front and from the rear. So he chose from all the choice men of Israel, and they arranged themselves to meet the Arameans. 10 But the remainder of the people he put in the hand of Abishai his brother; and he arranged them to meet the sons of Ammon. 11 And he said, “If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you shall save me, but if the sons of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come to save you. 12 (H)Be strong, and let us show strength for the sake of our people and for the cities of our God; and (I)may Yahweh do what is good in His sight.”

Colossians 3:12-17

12 So, as the (A)elect of God, holy and beloved, (B)put on a (C)heart of compassion, kindness, (D)humility, gentleness, and [a](E)patience; 13 (F)bearing with one another, and (G)graciously forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone, (H)just as the Lord graciously forgave you, so also should you. 14 Above all these things put on love, which is [b](I)the perfect bond of (J)unity. 15 And let (K)the peace of Christ [c]rule in your hearts, to which [d]indeed you were called in (L)one body, and [e]be thankful. 16 Let (M)the word of [f]Christ dwell in you richly, [g]with all wisdom (N)teaching and admonishing [h]one another (O)with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, (P)singing [i]with gratefulness in your hearts to God. 17 (Q)And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, (R)giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
