Psalm 95

95 1 An earnest exhortation to praise God, 4 for the government of the world and the election of the Church. 8 An admonition not to follow the rebellion of the old fathers, that tempted God in the wilderness. 11 For the which they might not enter into the land of promise.

Come, let us rejoice unto the Lord: let us sing [a]aloud unto the rock of our salvation.

Let us come before his face with praise: let us sing loud unto him with Psalms.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all [b]gods,

In whose hand are the deep places of the earth, and the [c]heights of the mountains are his,

To whom the Sea belongeth, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us [d]worship and fall down, and kneel before the Lord our maker.

For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his [e]hand: today, if ye will hear his voice,

[f]Harden not your heart, as in [g]Meribah, and as in the day of [h]Massah in the wilderness,

When your fathers (A)tempted me, proved me, though they had seen my work.

10 Forty years have I contended with this generation, and said, They are a people that [i]err in heart, for they have not known my ways.

11 Wherefore I sware in my wrath, saying, Surely they shall not enter into [j]my rest.

1 Chronicles 11:1-9

11 3 After the death of Saul, David is anointed in Hebron. 5 The Jebusites rebel against David, from whom he taketh the tower of Zion. 6 Joab is made captain. 10 His valiant men.

Then (A)all Israel [a]gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bones and thy flesh.

And in time past, even when Saul was king, thou leddest Israel out and in: and the Lord thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be captain over my people Israel.

So came all the Elders of Israel to the King to Hebron, and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord. And they anointed David king over Israel, (B)according to the word of the Lord, by the hand of Samuel.

¶ And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem: which is Jebus, where were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come in hither. Nevertheless David took the tower of Zion, which is the city of David.

And David said, (C)Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first, shall be the chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was captain.

And David dwelt in the tower: therefore they called it the city of David.

(D)And he built the city on every side, from Millo even round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.

And David prospered and grew: for the Lord of hosts was with him.

Revelation 7:13-17

13 [a]And one of the Elders spake, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in long white robes? and whence came they?

14 And I said unto him, Lord, thou knowest. And he said unto me, [b]These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their long robes, and have made their long robes white in the blood of the Lamb.

15 Therefore are they in the presence of the throne of God, and serve him [c]day and night in his Temple, and he that sitteth on the throne will dwell [d]among them.

16 (A)They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore, neither shall the sun light on them, neither any heat.

17 For the Lamb, which is in the midst of the throne, shall govern them, and shall lead them unto the lively fountains of waters, and (B)God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
