Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
8 ¶ God spake also to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,
9 Behold, I, even I establish my [a]covenant with you, and with your [b]seed after you,
10 And with every living creature that is with you, with the fowl, with the cattle, and with every beast of the earth with you, from all that go out of the Ark, unto every beast of the earth.
11 (A)And my covenant will I establish with you, that from henceforth all flesh shall not be rooted out by the waters of the flood, neither shall there be a flood to destroy the earth anymore.
12 Then God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you, and between every living thing that is with you unto perpetual generations.
13 I have set my [c]bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
14 And when I shall cover the earth with a cloud, and the bow shall be seen in the cloud,
15 Then will I remember my [d]covenant which is between me and you, and between every living thing in all flesh, and there shall be no more waters of a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 Therefore the bow shall be in the cloud, that I may see it, and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living thing, in all flesh that is upon the earth.
17 God said yet to Noah, [e]This is the sign of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
25 1 The Prophet touched with the consideration of his sins, and also grieved with the cruel malice of his enemies, 6 Prayeth to God most fervently to have his sins forgiven. 7 Especially such as he had committed in his youth. He beginneth every verse according to the Hebrew letters, two or three except.
A Psalm of David.
1 Unto thee, [a]O Lord, lift I up my soul.
2 My God, I [b]trust in thee; let me not be confounded: let not mine enemies rejoice over me.
3 (A)So all that hope in thee, shall not be ashamed; but let them be confounded, that transgress without cause.
4 [c]Show me thy ways, O Lord, and teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me forth in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation: in thee do I trust [d]all the day.
6 Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies, and thy lovingkindness: for they have been forever.
7 Remember not the [e]sins of my youth, nor my rebellions, but according to thy kindness remember thou me, even for thy goodness sake, O Lord.
8 Gracious and righteous is the Lord: therefore will he [f]teach sinners in the way.
9 Them that be meek, will he [g]guide in judgment, and teach the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies:
18 (A)[a]For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, [b]the just for the unjust, [c]that he might bring us to God, [d]and was put to death concerning the [e]flesh, but was quickened by the spirit.
19 [f]By [g]the which he also went, and preached unto the [h]spirits that are in prison.
20 Which were in time passed disobedient, when [i]once the long suffering of God abode in the days of (B)Noah, while the Ark was preparing, wherein few, that is, eight [j]souls were saved in the water.
21 [k]Whereof the baptism that now is, answering that figure, (which is not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but a confident demanding with a good conscience maketh to [l]God) saveth us also [m]by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
22 Which is at the right hand of God, gone into heaven, to whom the Angels, and Powers, and might are subject.
9 ¶ (A)[a]And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth, a city of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10 [b]And as soon as [c]he was come out of the water, John saw the heavens cloven in twain, and the holy Ghost descending upon him like a dove.
11 Then there was a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am [d]well pleased.
12 (B)[e]And immediately the Spirit [f]driveth him into the wilderness.
13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, and was tempted of Satan: he was also with the wild beasts, and the Angels ministered unto him.
14 ¶ (C)[g]Now after that John was committed to prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe the Gospel.
