Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
12 But thou, O Lord, dost [a]remain forever, and thy remembrance from generation to generation.
13 Thou wilt arise and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to have mercy thereon, for the [b]appointed time is come.
14 For thy servants delight in the [c]stones thereof, and have pity on the dust thereof.
15 Then the heathen shall fear the Name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory,
16 When the Lord shall build up Zion, and shall appear [d]in his glory,
17 And shall turn unto the prayer of the desolate, and not despise their prayer.
18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be [e]created, shall praise the Lord.
19 For he hath looked down from the height of his Sanctuary: out of the heaven did the Lord behold the earth,
20 That he might hear the mourning of the prisoner, and deliver the [f]children of death.
21 That they may declare the Name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem,
22 When the people shall be gathered [g]together, and the kingdoms to serve the Lord.
23 He [h]abated my strength in the way, and shortened my days.
24 And I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years endure from generation to generation.
25 Thou hast aforetime laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of thine hands.
26 [i]They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: even they all shall wax old as doth a garment: as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed.
27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
28 The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall stand [j]fast in thy sight.
8 1 Elisha prophesieth unto the Shunammite the dearth of seven years. 12 He prophesieth to Hazael, that he shall be king of Syria. 15 He reigneth after Ben-Hadad. 16 Jehoram reigneth over Judah. 20 Edom falleth from Judah. 25 Ahaziah succeedeth Jehoram.
1 Then spake Elisha unto the woman, (A)whose son he had restored to life, saying, Up, and go, thou, and thine house, and sojourn where thou [a]canst sojourn: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it cometh also upon the land seven years.
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both she and her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
3 ¶ And at the seven year’s end, the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines, and went out [b]to call upon the king for her house and for her land.
4 And the King talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great acts, that Elisha hath done.
5 And as he told [c]the king, how he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose son he had raised to life, called upon the king for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi said, My lord, O King, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him: so the King appointed her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the [d]fruits of her land since the day she left the land, even until this time.
36 ¶ [a]But after certain days, Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us return and visit our brethren in every city, where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
37 [b]And Barnabas counseled to take with them John, called Mark.
38 But Paul thought it not meet to take him unto their company, which departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
39 [c]Then were they so [d]stirred, that they departed asunder one from the other, so that Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus.
40 And Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended of the brethren unto the grace of God.
41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, establishing the Churches.
