Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Vav
41 May Your (A)favor also come to me, Lord,
Your salvation (B)according to Your [a]word;
42 So that I will have an (C)answer for one who (D)taunts me,
For I trust in Your word.
43 And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I [b](E)wait for Your judgments.
44 So I will (F)keep Your Law continually,
Forever and ever.
45 And I will (G)walk [c]at liberty,
For I (H)seek Your precepts.
46 I will also speak of Your testimonies (I)before kings
And shall not be ashamed.
47 I will (J)delight in Your commandments,
Which I (K)love.
48 And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments,
Which I (L)love;
And I will (M)meditate on Your statutes.
16 “This day the Lord your God commands you to perform these statutes and ordinances. Therefore you shall be careful to perform them (A)with all your heart and with all your soul. 17 (B)Today you have declared the Lord to be your God, and [a]that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His ordinances, and listen to His voice. 18 And the Lord has today declared you to be (C)His people, His personal possession, just as He promised you, and [b]that you are to keep all His commandments; 19 and [c]that He will (D)put you high above all the nations which He has made, for glory, fame, and honor; and that you shall be (E)a consecrated people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken.”
The Curses at Mount Ebal
27 Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the commandments which I am commanding you today. 2 (F)So it shall be on the day when you cross the Jordan to the land which the Lord your God is giving you, that you shall set up for yourself large stones and coat them with lime 3 and write on them all the words of this Law, when you cross over, so that you may enter the land which the Lord your God is giving you, (G)a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your fathers, [d]promised you. 4 So it shall be when you cross the Jordan, you shall set up these stones (H)on Mount Ebal, [e]as I am commanding you today, and you shall coat them with lime. 5 Moreover, you shall build there an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones; you (I)shall not wield an iron tool on them. 6 You shall build the altar of the Lord your God of [f]uncut stones, and you shall offer on it burnt offerings to the Lord your God; 7 and you shall sacrifice peace offerings and eat there, and (J)rejoice before the Lord your God.
The Rich Young Ruler
16 (A)And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain (B)eternal life?” 17 And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but (C)if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” 18 Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “(D)You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony; 19 (E)Honor your father and mother; and (F)You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20 The young man *said to Him, “All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be [a]complete, go and (G)sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have (H)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
