To the Overcomer: A Psalm for the sons of Korah.

¹ ¶ O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

² For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

³ He shall guide the peoples under us, and the Gentiles under our feet.

⁴ He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

⁵ ¶ God is gone up with a shout of joy, the LORD with the sound of the shofar.

⁶ Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

⁷ For God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises with understanding.

⁸ God reigns over the Gentiles; God sits upon the throne of his holiness.

⁹ The princes of the peoples have joined the people of the God of Abraham; for the shields of the earth belong unto God; he is greatly exalted.

¹⁵ ¶ And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time

¹⁶ and said, By myself I have sworn, said the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son;

¹⁷ that in blessing I will bless thee and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gates of his enemies;

¹⁸ and in thy seed shall all the Gentiles of the earth be blessed because thou hast hearkened unto my voice.

⁹ ¶ But as touching love among the brethren, ye need not that I write unto you, for ye yourselves have learned of God that ye are to show charity to one another.

¹⁰ And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia, but we beseech you, brethren, that ye continue to grow

¹¹ and that ye procure to be quiet and to do your business and to work with your hands, as we commanded you,

¹² that ye may walk honestly toward those that are without, and that ye may desire nothing from any one.
