Version
Psalm 116:1-2

Thanksgiving for Deliverance from Death.

116 (A)I love the Lord, because He (B)hears
My voice and my supplications.
Because He has (C)inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.

Psalm 116:12-19

12 What shall I (A)render to the Lord
For all His (B)benefits [a]toward me?
13 I shall lift up the (C)cup of salvation
And (D)call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I shall (E)pay my vows to the Lord,
Oh may it be (F)in the presence of all His people.
15 (G)Precious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His godly ones.
16 O Lord, [b]surely I am (H)Your servant,
I am Your servant, the (I)son of Your handmaid,
You have (J)loosed my bonds.
17 To You I shall offer (K)a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And (L)call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I shall (M)pay my vows to the Lord,
Oh may it be in the presence of all His people,
19 In the (N)courts of the Lord’s house,
In the midst of you, O (O)Jerusalem.
[c]Praise [d]the Lord!

Genesis 24:1-9

A Bride for Isaac

24 Now (A)Abraham was old, advanced in age; and the Lord had (B)blessed Abraham in every way. Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his household, who had (C)charge of all that he owned, “(D)Please place your hand under my thigh, and I will make you swear by the Lord, (E)the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you (F)shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of (G)the Canaanites, among whom I live, but you will go to (H)my country and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac.” The servant said to him, “Suppose the woman is not willing to follow me to this land; should I take your son back to the land from where you came?” Then Abraham said to him, “(I)Beware that you do not take my son back there! (J)The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, ‘(K)To your [a]descendants I will give this land,’ He will send (L)His angel before you, and you will take a wife for my son from there. But if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will (M)be free from this my oath; (N)only do not take my son back there.” So the servant (O)placed his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning this matter.

Acts 7:35-43

35 “This Moses whom they (A)disowned, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one whom God [a]sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the [b]help of the angel who appeared to him in the thorn bush. 36 (B)This man led them out, performing (C)wonders and [c]signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the (D)wilderness for forty years. 37 This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘(E)God will raise up for you a prophet [d]like me from your brethren.’ 38 This is the one who was in (F)the [e]congregation in the wilderness together with (G)the angel who was speaking to him on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received (H)living (I)oracles to pass on to you. 39 Our fathers were unwilling to be obedient to him, but (J)repudiated him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt, 40 (K)saying to Aaron, ‘Make for us gods who will go before us; for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egyptwe do not know what happened to him.’ 41 [f]At that time (L)they made a [g]calf and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and were rejoicing in (M)the works of their hands. 42 But God (N)turned away and delivered them up to [h]serve the [i]host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, ‘(O)It was not to Me that you offered victims and sacrifices (P)forty years in the wilderness, was it, O house of Israel? 43 (Q)You also took along the tabernacle of Moloch and the star of the god [j]Rompha, the images which you made to worship. I also will remove you beyond Babylon.’
