Psalm 119:17-32

Gimel

17 (A)Deal bountifully with your servant,
    (B)that I may live and keep your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
    wondrous things out of your law.
19 I am (C)a sojourner on the earth;
    (D)hide not your commandments from me!
20 My soul is consumed with (E)longing
    for your rules[a] at all times.
21 You rebuke (F)the insolent, (G)accursed ones,
    who (H)wander from your commandments.
22 Take away from me (I)scorn and contempt,
    (J)for I have kept your testimonies.
23 Even though (K)princes sit plotting against me,
    your servant will (L)meditate on your statutes.
24 Your testimonies are my (M)delight;
    they are my (N)counselors.

Daleth

25 (O)My soul clings to the dust;
    (P)give me life (Q)according to your word!
26 When (R)I told of my ways, you answered me;
    (S)teach me your statutes!
27 (T)Make me understand the way of your precepts,
    and I will (U)meditate on your wondrous works.
28 (V)My soul melts away for sorrow;
    strengthen me according to your word!
29 Put false ways far from me
    and graciously (W)teach me your law!
30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
    I (X)set your rules before me.
31 I cling to your testimonies, O Lord;
    (Y)let me not be put to shame!
32 I will run in the way of your commandments
    when you (Z)enlarge my heart![b]

Amos 7:1-6

Warning Visions

(A)This is what the Lord God showed me: behold, (B)he was forming locusts when the latter growth was just beginning to sprout, and behold, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings. When they had finished eating the grass of the land, I said,

“O Lord God, please forgive!
    (C)How can Jacob stand?
    He is so small!”
(D)The Lord relented concerning this:
    “It shall not be,” said the Lord.

(E)This is what the Lord God showed me: behold, the Lord God was calling (F)for a judgment by fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land. Then I said,

“O Lord God, please cease!
    (G)How can Jacob stand?
    He is so small!”
(H)The Lord relented concerning this:
    “This also shall not be,” said the Lord God.

Colossians 1:27-2:7

27 (A)To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are (B)the riches of the glory of (C)this mystery, which is Christ in you, (D)the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that (E)we may present everyone (F)mature in Christ. 29 For this (G)I toil, (H)struggling (I)with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.

For I want you to know (J)how great a (K)struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, that (L)their hearts may be encouraged, being (M)knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of (N)God's mystery, which is Christ, (O)in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I say this in order (P)that no one may delude you with plausible arguments. For (Q)though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your (R)good order and (S)the firmness of your faith in Christ.

Alive in Christ

(T)Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, (U)rooted and (V)built up in him and (W)established in the faith, just (X)as you were taught, abounding (Y)in thanksgiving.
