Psalm 75

75 1 The faithful do praise the Name of the Lord, 2 Which shall come to judge at the time appointed: 8 When the wicked shall be put to confusion, and drink of the cup of his wrath. 10 Their pride shall be abated, and the righteous shall be exalted to honor.

To him that excelleth. [a]Destroy not. A Psalm, or song committed to Asaph.

We will praise thee, O God, we will praise thee, for thy Name is near: therefore [b]they will declare thy wondrous works.

[c]When I shall take a convenient time, I will judge righteously.

The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: but I will establish the pillars [d]of it. Selah.

I said unto the foolish, Be not so foolish, and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn.

Lift not up your [e]horn on high, neither speak with a stiff neck.

For to come to preferment is neither from the East, nor from the West, nor from the South,

But God is the judge: he maketh low, and he maketh high.

For in the hand of the Lord is a [f]cup, and the wine is red: it is full mixed, and he poureth out of the same: surely all the wicked of the earth shall wring out and drink the dregs thereof.

But I will declare forever, and sing praises unto the God of Jacob.

10 All the horns of the wicked also will I break: but the horns of the [g]righteous shall be exalted.

2 Kings 4:1-7

4 God increaseth the oil to the poor widow by Elisha. 12 He obtaineth for the Shunammite a son at God’s hand. 18 Who dying,  32 he raiseth him up again. 40 He maketh sweet the pottage, 42 and multiplied the loaves.

And one of the wives of the sons [a]of the Prophets cried unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant mine husband is dead, and thou knowest, that thy servant did [b]fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take my two sons to be his [c]bondmen.

Then Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou at home? And she said, Thine handmaid hath nothing at home, save a [d]pitcher of oil.

And he said, Go and borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, empty vessels, and spare not.

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and pour out into [e]all those vessels, and set aside those that are full.

So she departed from him, and shut the door upon her, and upon her sons. And they brought to her, and she poured out.

And when the vessels were full, she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is no more vessels. And the oil [f]ceased.

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go and sell the oil, and pay them that thou art in debt unto, and live thou and thy children of the [g]rest.

Matthew 10:16-25

16 (A)[a]Behold, I send you as [b]sheep in the midst of the wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and [c]innocent as doves.

17 But beware of [d]men, for they will deliver you up to the Councils, and will scourge you in their Synagogues.

18 And ye shall be brought to the governors and kings for my sake, in witness to them, and to the Gentiles.

19 (B)But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that hour, what ye shall say.

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

21 And the (C)brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son, and the children shall rise against their parents, and shall cause them to die.

22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my Name: (D)but he that endureth to the end, he shall be saved.

23 And when they persecute you in this city, flee into another: for verily I say unto you, ye shall not [e]go over all the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

24 (E)The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his Lord.

25 It is enough for the disciple to be as his master is, and the servant as his Lord. (F)If they have called the master of the house [f]Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?
