Version
Psalm 69:1-5

A Cry of Distress and Imprecation on Adversaries.

For the choir director; according to [a]Shoshannim. A Psalm of David.

69 Save me, O God,
For the (A)waters have [b]threatened my life.
I have sunk in deep (B)mire, and there is no foothold;
I have come into deep waters, and a [c](C)flood overflows me.
I am (D)weary with my crying; my throat is parched;
My (E)eyes fail while I wait for my God.
Those (F)who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head;
Those who would [d]destroy me (G)are powerful, being wrongfully my enemies;
(H)What I did not steal, I then have to restore.

O God, it is You who knows (I)my folly,
And (J)my wrongs are not hidden from You.

Psalm 69:30-36

30 I will (A)praise the name of God with song
And (B)magnify Him with (C)thanksgiving.
31 And it will (D)please the Lord better than an ox
Or a young bull with horns and hoofs.
32 The (E)humble [a]have seen it and are glad;
You who seek God, (F)let your heart [b]revive.
33 For (G)the Lord hears the needy
And (H)does not despise His who are prisoners.

34 Let (I)heaven and earth praise Him,
The seas and (J)everything that moves in them.
35 For God will (K)save Zion and (L)build the cities of Judah,
That they may dwell there and (M)possess it.
36 The [c](N)descendants of His servants will inherit it,
And those who love His name (O)will dwell in it.

Isaiah 41:14-20

14 “Do not fear, you (A)worm Jacob, you men of Israel;
I will help you,” declares the Lord, “[a]and (B)your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15 “Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges;
(C)You will thresh the (D)mountains and pulverize them,
And will make the hills like chaff.
16 “You will (E)winnow them, and the wind will carry them away,
And the storm will scatter them;
But you will (F)rejoice in the Lord,
You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.

17 “The [b]afflicted and needy are seeking (G)water, but there is none,
And their tongue is parched with thirst;
I, the Lord, (H)will answer them Myself,
As the God of Israel I (I)will not forsake them.
18 “I will open (J)rivers on the bare heights
And springs in the midst of the valleys;
I will make (K)the wilderness a pool of water
And the dry land fountains of water.
19 “I will put the cedar in the wilderness,
The acacia and the (L)myrtle and the [c]olive tree;
I will place the (M)juniper in the desert
Together with the box tree and the cypress,
20 That (N)they may see and recognize,
And consider and gain insight as well,
That the (O)hand of the Lord has done this,
And the Holy One of Israel has created it.

John 1:29-34

29 The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, (A)the Lamb of God who (B)takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is He on behalf of whom I said, ‘(C)After me comes a Man who [a]has a higher rank than I, (D)for He existed before me.’ 31 I did not recognize [b]Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing [c]in water.” 32 John (E)testified saying, “(F)I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. 33 I did not recognize [d]Him, but He who sent me to baptize [e]in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, (G)this is the One who baptizes [f]in the Holy Spirit.’ 34 I myself have seen, and have testified that this is (H)the Son of God.”
