Mary’s Song of Praise

46 Then Mary said,

“My soul praises the greatness of the Lord!
47 My spirit exults in God, my Savior,
48 because he has looked favorably on his humble servant.

From now on, all generations will call me blessed,
49 because the Almighty has done great things for me.
        His name is holy.
50 His mercy lasts from generation to generation
    for those who fear him.
51 He displayed his mighty power with his arm.
He scattered people who were proud in mind and heart.[a]
52 He pulled powerful rulers from their thrones
    and lifted up humble people.
53 He filled hungry people with good things
and sent rich people away with nothing.
54 He helped his servant Israel,
    remembering to be merciful,
55 according to the promise he made[b] to our ancestors—
to Abraham and his descendants forever.”

Isaiah 33:17-22

17 “Your eyes will see the king in his elegance,
and will view a land that stretches afar.
18 Your mind will ponder at that time of terror:
    ‘Where is the king’s accountant?
Where is the one who weighed the revenue?
Where is the officer who supervises[a] the towers?’
19 No longer will you[b] see those arrogant people,
those people with their obscure speech you cannot comprehend,
stammering in a language you cannot understand.

20 “Look at Zion, city of our festivals![c]
    Your eyes will see Jerusalem,
        an undisturbed abode, an immovable tent;
its stakes will never be pulled up,
nor will any of its ropes be broken.
21 But there the Lord in majesty will be for us
our source[d] of broad rivers and streams,
where no galley with oars can go,
where no stately ship can sail.
22 For the Lord is our judge,
    and the Lord is our lawgiver;
and the Lord is our king,
and it is he who will save us.

Revelation 22:6-7

He is Coming Soon

He told me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord God of the spirits and of the prophets has sent his messenger[a] to show his servants the things that must happen soon.”

“See! I am coming soon! How blessed is the person who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book!”

Revelation 22:18-20

Concluding Warning

18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy in this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will strike him with the plagues that are written in this book. 19 If anyone takes away any words from the book of this prophecy, God will take away his portion of the tree of life and the holy city that are described in this book.

Epilogue

20 The one who is testifying to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!”

Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
