Version
Amos 7:7-17

Thus He showed me, and behold, the Lord was standing [a]by a wall made with a [b]plumb line, and in His hand was a [c]plumb line. And Yahweh said to me, “(A)What do you see, Amos?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said,

“Behold, I am about to put a (B)plumb line
In the midst of My people Israel.
I will (C)pass over them no longer.
The (D)high places of Isaac will be desolated
And the (E)sanctuaries of Israel laid waste.
Then I will (F)rise up against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”

Amos Accused

10 Then Amaziah, the (G)priest of Bethel, sent word to (H)Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has (I)conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is unable to endure all his words. 11 For thus Amos says, ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will certainly go from its land into exile.’” 12 Then Amaziah said to Amos, “(J)Go, you seer, flee away to the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and there do your prophesying! 13 But (K)no longer prophesy at Bethel, for it is a (L)sanctuary of the king and a royal house.”

14 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, “I am not a prophet, nor am I the (M)son of a prophet; for I am a herdsman and a [d]grower of sycamore figs. 15 But Yahweh took me from [e]following the flock, and Yahweh said to me, ‘Go (N)prophesy to My people Israel.’ 16 So now, hear the word of Yahweh: you are saying, ‘You (O)shall not prophesy against Israel, (P)nor shall you drip out words against the house of Isaac.’ 17 Therefore, thus says Yahweh, ‘Your (Q)wife will play the harlot in the city, your (R)sons and your daughters will fall by the sword, your land will be divided up by a measuring line, and you yourself will die [f]upon (S)unclean land. Moreover, Israel will certainly go from its land into exile.’”

Psalm 82

God Stands in Judgment

A Psalm of Asaph.

82 God takes His (A)stand in the congregation of [a]God;
He (B)judges in the midst of [b](C)gods.
How long will you (D)judge unrighteously
And (E)show partiality to the wicked? [c]Selah.
(F)Give justice to the poor and the orphan;
Justify the afflicted and destitute.
(G)Protect the poor and needy;
Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

They (H)do not know and do not understand;
They (I)walk about in darkness;
All the (J)foundations of the earth are shaken.
[d]I (K)said, “You are gods,
And all of you are (L)sons of the Most High.
Nevertheless (M)you will die like men
And you will fall like any (N)one of the princes.”
(O)Arise, O God, (P)judge the earth!
For it is You who (Q)will inherit all the nations.

Colossians 1:1-14

Thanksgiving and Prayer

(A)Paul, (B)an apostle of Christ Jesus [a](C)by the will of God, and (D)Timothy [b]our brother,

To the [c](E)saints and faithful brothers in Christ in Colossae: (F)Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

(G)We give thanks to God, (H)the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, (I)since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the (J)love which you have [d]for (K)all the [e]saints, because of the (L)hope (M)laid up for you in [f]heaven, of which you previously (N)heard in the word of truth, [g]the gospel which has come to you, just as [h](O)in all the world also it is constantly bearing (P)fruit and [i]multiplying, just as it has been doing in you also since the day you (Q)heard and [j]understood the grace of God in truth; just as you learned it from (R)Epaphras, our (S)beloved fellow slave, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf, who also informed us of your (T)love in the Spirit.

For this reason also, (U)since the day we heard, (V)we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the [k](W)full knowledge of His will in all spiritual (X)wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you may (Y)walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, [l](Z)to please Him in all respects, (AA)bearing fruit in every good work and [m]multiplying in the [n]full knowledge of God; 11 (AB)being strengthened with all power, according to [o]His glorious might, [p]for the attaining of all steadfastness and [q]patience; (AC)joyously 12 giving thanks to (AD)the Father, who has qualified us [r]to share in (AE)the inheritance of the [s]saints in (AF)light. 13 Who rescued us from the (AG)authority of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of (AH)the Son of His love, 14 (AI)in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Luke 10:25-37

The Good Samaritan

25 (A)And behold, a (B)scholar of the Law stood up and was putting Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And he answered and said, “(C)You shall love the [a]Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” 28 And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; (D)do this and you will live.” 29 But wishing (E)to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” 30 Jesus replied and said, “A man was (F)going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and [b]beat him, and went away leaving him half dead. 31 And a priest happened to be going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a (G)Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him, and when he saw him, he felt compassion. 34 And he came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them, and he put him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And on the next day he took out two [c]denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.’ 36 Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?” 37 And he said, “The one who showed mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do [d]the same.”
