A Prophecy Enrages Ahab

³⁵ Now a certain man of ^(A)the sons of the prophets said to ^[a]another ^(B)by the word of Yahweh, “Please strike me.” But the man refused to strike him.

³ Then ^(A)the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from over ^[a]you today?” And he said, “Yes, I know; be silent.”

^5 (A)Then the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho approached Elisha and said to him, “^(B)Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from over ^[a]you today?” And he ^[b]answered, “Yes, I know; be silent.”

The Death in the Stew

³⁸ Now Elisha returned to ^(A)Gilgal, and there was ^(B)a famine in the land. ^[a]As ^(C)the sons of the prophets ^(D)were sitting before him, he said to his young man, “^(E)Put on the large pot and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

^2 (A)And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him to his face and said to King Jehoshaphat, “^(B)Should you help the wicked and love those who hate Yahweh and ^[a](C)so bring wrath on yourself from Yahweh?
