Psalm 6

Yahweh, Rescue My Soul

For the choir director. With stringed instruments. According to the [a]Sheminith. A Psalm of David.

O Yahweh, (A)do not reprove me in Your anger,
Nor discipline me in Your wrath.
Be gracious to me, O Yahweh, for I am (B)pining away;
(C)Heal me, O Yahweh, for (D)my bones are dismayed.
And my (E)soul is greatly dismayed;
But You, O Yahweh—(F)how long?

Return, O Yahweh, (G)rescue my [b]soul;
Save me because of Your lovingkindness.
For (H)there is no remembrance of You in death;
In Sheol who will give You thanks?

I am (I)weary with my sighing;
Every night I make my bed swim,
I flood my couch with (J)my tears.
My (K)eye has wasted away with grief;
It has become old because of all my adversaries.

(L)Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity,
For Yahweh (M)has heard the sound of my weeping.
Yahweh (N)has heard my supplication,
Yahweh (O)receives my prayer.
10 All my enemies will (P)be ashamed and greatly dismayed;
They shall [c]turn back, they will (Q)suddenly be ashamed.

2 Kings 5:15-19

Gehazi’s Leprosy

15 Then he returned to the man of God [a]with all his camp, and came and stood before him, and said, “Behold now, (A)I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel; so now please (B)take a blessing from your servant.” 16 But he said, “(C)As Yahweh lives, before whom I stand, (D)I will take nothing.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused. 17 So Naaman said, “If not, please let your servant at least be given two mules’ load of (E)earth; for your servant will no longer offer burnt offering nor will he sacrifice to other gods, but to Yahweh. 18 In this matter may Yahweh pardon your servant: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and (F)he leans on my hand and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, when I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, Yahweh pardon your servant in this matter.” 19 And he said to him, “(G)Go in peace.” So he went from him some distance.

Acts 19:21-27

Riots in Ephesus

21 Now after these things were finished, Paul purposed in the [a]Spirit to (A)go to Jerusalem (B)after he had passed through (C)Macedonia and (D)Achaia, saying, “After I have been there, (E)I must also see Rome.” 22 And having sent into (F)Macedonia two of (G)those who ministered to him, (H)Timothy and (I)Erastus, he himself stayed in [b](J)Asia for a while.

23 Now about that time there occurred no small disturbance concerning (K)the Way. 24 For a man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of [c]Artemis, (L)was bringing no little [d]business to the craftsmen; 25 these he gathered together with the workers of similar trades, and said, “Men, you know that our prosperity is from this business. 26 And you see and hear that not only in (M)Ephesus, but in almost all of (N)Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away a considerable crowd, saying that (O)things made with hands are not gods. 27 And not only is there danger that this trade of ours fall into disrepute, but also that the temple of the great goddess [e]Artemis be considered as worthless and that she, whom all of (P)Asia and (Q)the [f]world worship, is even about to be brought down from her majesty.”
