4 ¶ And a number of [a]people that was among them, fell a lusting, and [b]turned away, and the children of Israel also wept, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
5 We remember the fish which we did eat in Egypt for [c]nought, the cucumbers, and the pepons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic.
6 But now our soul is [d]dried away, we can see nothing but this Manna.
10 ¶ Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent, and the wrath of the Lord was grievously kindled: also Moses was grieved.
11 And Moses said unto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou [a]vexed thy servant? and why have I not found [b]favor in thy sight, seeing thou hast put the charge of all this people upon me?
12 Have I [c]conceived all this people? or have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom (as a nurse beareth the sucking child) unto the [d]land, for the which thou swarest unto their fathers?
13 Where should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh that we may eat.
14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, for it is too heavy for me.
15 Therefore if thou deal thus with me, I pray thee, if I have found favor in thy [e]sight, kill me, that I behold not my misery.
16 ¶ Then the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the Elders of Israel, whom thou knowest, that they are the Elders of the people, and governors over them, and bring them unto the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and let them stand there with thee.
24 ¶ So Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered seventy men of the Elders of the people, and set them round about the Tabernacle.
25 Then the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and [a]took of the Spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy Ancient men: and when the Spirit rested upon them, then they prophesied, and did not [b]cease.
26 But there remained two of the men in the host: the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad, and the Spirit rested upon them, (for they were of them that were written, and went not out unto the Tabernacle) and they prophesied in the host.
27 Then there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the host.
28 And Joshua the son of Nun the servant of Moses one of his [c]young men answered and said, My lord Moses, [d]forbid them.
29 But Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? yea, would God that all the Lord’s people were Prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them.
7 The [a]Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, and giveth wisdom unto the simple.
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, and rejoice the heart, the commandment of the Lord is pure, and giveth light unto the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, and endureth forever: the judgments of the Lord are [b]truth: they are righteous [c]altogether,
10 And more to be [d]desired than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey, and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant made circumspect, and in keeping of them there is great [e]reward.
12 Who can understand his [f]faults? cleanse me from secret faults.
13 Keep thy servant also from [g]presumptuous sins: let them not reign over me: [h]so shall I be upright, and made clean from much wickedness.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the [i]meditation of mine heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord my strength, and my redeemer.
13 [a]Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing.
14 [b]Is any sick among you? Let him call for the Elders of the Church, and let them pray for him, and anoint him with (A)[c]oil in the [d]Name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up: and if he have committed [e]sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 [f]Acknowledge your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed: [g]for the prayer of a righteous man availeth much, if it be fervent.
17 (B)Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again: and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 [h]Brethren, (C)If any of you hath erred from the truth, and some man hath [i]converted him,
20 Let him know that he which hath converted the sinner from going astray out of his way, shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
38 ¶ (A)[a]Then John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils by thy Name, which followeth not us, and we forbade him, because he followeth us not.
39 ¶ (B)But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can do a miracle by my Name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40 For whosoever is not against us, is on our part.
41 (C)And whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink for my Name’s sake, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
42 (D)[b]And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones, that believe in me, it were better for him rather, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were cast into the sea.
43 (E)Wherefore if thine hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, than having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched,
44 (F)Where their [c]worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.
45 Likewise, if thy foot cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to go halt into life, than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched,
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.
47 And if thine eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out: it is better for thee to go into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire,
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.
49 [d]For every man shall be [e]salted with fire: and (G)every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 (H)Salt is good: but if the salt be unsavory, wherewith shall it be seasoned? have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
