Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
146 1 David declareth his great zeal that he hath to praise God. 3 And teacheth, not to trust in man, but only in God Almighty, 7 Which delivereth the afflicted, 9 Defendeth the strangers, comforteth the fatherless, and the widows, 10 And reigneth forever.
Praise ye the Lord.
1 Praise thou the Lord, O my [a]soul.
2 I will praise the Lord during my life; as long as I have any being, I will sing unto my God.
3 Put not your trust in [b]Princes, nor in the son of man, for there is no help in him.
4 His breath departeth, and he returneth to his earth; then his [c]thoughts perish.
5 Blessed is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 Which made [d]heaven and earth, the sea, and all that therein is; which keepeth his fidelity forever,
7 Which executeth justice [e]for the oppressed, which giveth bread to the hungry; the Lord looseth the prisoners.
8 The Lord giveth sight to the blind: the Lord raiseth up the crooked: the Lord [f]loveth the righteous.
9 The Lord keepeth the [g]strangers: he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but he overthroweth the way of the wicked.
10 The Lord shall [h]reign forever: O Zion, thy God endureth from generation to generation. Praise ye the Lord.
33 1 The destruction of them by whom God hath punished his Church.
1 Woe to thee that [a]spoilest, and wast not spoiled: and doest wickedly, and they did not wickedly against thee: when thou shalt [b]cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled: when thou shalt make an end of doing wickedly, [c]they shall do wickedly against thee.
2 [d]O Lord, have mercy upon us, we have waited for thee: be thou, which wast [e]their arm in the morning, our help also in time of trouble.
3 At the noise of the tumult, the [f]people fled: at thine [g]exalting the nations were scattered.
4 And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of [h]caterpillars: and [i]he shall go against him like the leaping of grasshoppers.
5 The Lord is exalted: for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and justice.
6 And there shall be stability of [j]the times, strength, salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: for the fear of the Lord shall be his treasure.
7 Behold, [k]their messengers shall cry without, and the [l]ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.
8 The [m]paths are waste: the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant: he hath contemned the cities: he regardeth no man.
9 The earth mourneth and fainteth: Lebanon is ashamed, and hewn down: [n]Sharon is like a wilderness, and Bashan is shaken and Carmel.
21 (A)And Jesus went thence, and departed into the [a]coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And behold, a woman a [b]Canaanite came out of the same coasts, and cried, saying unto him, Have mercy on me, O Lord, the son of David: my daughter is miserably vexed with a devil.
23 [c]But he answered her not a word. Then came to him his disciples, and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered, and said, I am not sent, but unto the (B)lost sheep of the [d]house of Israel.
25 Yet she came, and worshipped him, saying, Lord help me.
26 And he answered, and said, It is not good to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to whelps.
27 But she said, Truth, Lord: yet indeed the whelps eat of the crumbs, which fall from their master’s table.
28 Then Jesus answered, and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it to thee, as thou desirest. And her daughter was made whole at that hour.
29 ¶ [e]So Jesus (C)went away from thence, and came near unto the sea of Galilee, and went up in a mountain and sat down there.
30 And great multitudes came unto him, (D)having with them, halt, blind, dumb, [f]maimed, and many others, and cast them down, at Jesus’ feet, and he healed them.
31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, to see the dumb speak, the maimed whole, the halt to go, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
