The Majesty of the Lord.
93 (A)The Lord [a]reigns, He is (B)clothed with majesty;
The Lord has (C)clothed and girded Himself with strength;
Indeed, the (D)world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
2 Your (E)throne is established from of old;
You (F)are from everlasting.
3 The (G)floods have lifted up, O Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice,
The floods lift up their pounding waves.
4 More than the sounds of many waters,
Than the mighty breakers of the sea,
The Lord (H)on high is mighty.
5 Your (I)testimonies are fully confirmed;
(J)Holiness befits Your house,
O Lord, [b]forevermore.
Tyre’s King Overthrown
28 The word of the Lord came again to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, say to the [a]leader of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord [b]God,
“Because your heart is lifted up
And you have said, ‘(A)I am a god,
I sit in the seat of [c]gods
In the heart of the seas’;
Yet you are a (B)man and not God,
Although you make your heart like the heart of God—
3 Behold, you are wiser than (C)Daniel;
There is no secret that is a match for you.
4 “By your wisdom and understanding
You have acquired (D)riches for yourself
And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.
5 “By your great wisdom, by your (E)trade
You have increased your riches
And your (F)heart is lifted up because of your riches—
6 Therefore thus says the Lord God,
‘Because you have (G)made your heart
Like the heart of God,
7 Therefore, behold, I will bring (H)strangers upon you,
The (I)most ruthless of the nations.
And they will draw their swords
Against the beauty of your wisdom
And defile your splendor.
8 ‘They will bring you down to the pit,
And you will die the (J)death of those who are slain
In the heart of the seas.
9 ‘Will you still say, “I am a god,”
In the presence of your slayer,
Though you are a man and not God,
In the hands of those who wound you?
10 ‘You will die the death of the (K)uncircumcised
By the hand of strangers,
For I have spoken!’ declares the Lord God!”’”
Stephen Put to Death
54 Now when they heard this, they were (A)cut to the quick, and they began gnashing their teeth at him. 55 But being (B)full of the Holy Spirit, he (C)gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing (D)at the right hand of God; 56 and he said, “Behold, I see the (E)heavens opened up and (F)the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” 57 But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse. 58 When they had (G)driven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and (H)the witnesses (I)laid aside their robes at the feet of (J)a young man named Saul. 59 They went on stoning Stephen as he (K)called on the Lord and said, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” 60 Then (L)falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, (M)do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he [a](N)fell asleep.
Saul Persecutes the Church
8 (O)Saul was in hearty agreement with putting him to death.
And on that day a great persecution [b]began against (P)the church in Jerusalem, and they were all (Q)scattered throughout the regions of Judea and (R)Samaria, except the apostles.
