Version
Isaiah 38:10-20

10 I said, “(A)In the middle of my [a]life
I am to enter the (B)gates of Sheol;
I am to be (C)deprived of the rest of my years.”
11 I said, “I will not see the Lord,
The Lord (D)in the land of the living;
I will look on man no more among the inhabitants of the world.
12 “Like a shepherd’s (E)tent my dwelling is pulled up and removed from me;
As a (F)weaver I (G)rolled up my life.
He (H)cuts me off from the loom;
From (I)day until night You make an end of me.
13 “I composed my soul until morning.
(J)Like a lion—so He (K)breaks all my bones,
From (L)day until night You make an end of me.
14 (M)Like a swallow, like a crane, so I twitter;
I (N)moan like a dove;
My (O)eyes look wistfully to the heights;
O Lord, I am oppressed, be my (P)security.

15 (Q)What shall I say?
[b]For He has spoken to me, and He Himself has done it;
I will (R)wander about all my years because of the (S)bitterness of my soul.
16 “O Lord, (T)by these things men live,
And in all these is the life of my spirit;
[c](U)O restore me to health and (V)let me live!
17 “Lo, for my own welfare I had great bitterness;
It is You who has [d](W)kept my soul from the pit of [e]nothingness,
For You have (X)cast all my sins behind Your back.
18 “For (Y)Sheol cannot thank You,
Death cannot praise You;
Those who go down (Z)to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.
19 “It is the (AA)living who give thanks to You, as I do today;
A (AB)father tells his sons about Your faithfulness.
20 “The Lord will surely save me;
So we will (AC)play my songs on stringed instruments
(AD)All the days of our life (AE)at the house of the Lord.”

Judges 15:9-20

Then the Philistines went up and camped in Judah, and spread out in Lehi. 10 The men of Judah said, “Why have you come up against us?” And they said, “We have come up to bind Samson in order to do to him as he did to us.” 11 Then 3,000 men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam and said to Samson, “Do you not know (A)that the Philistines are rulers over us? What then is this that you have done to us?” And he said to them, “As they did to me, so I have done to them.” 12 They said to him, “We have come down to bind you so that we may give you into the hands of the Philistines.” And Samson said to them, “Swear to me that you will not [a]kill me.” 13 So they said to [b]him, “No, but we will bind you fast and give you into their hands; yet surely we will not kill you.” Then they bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock.

14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines shouted as they met him. And (B)the Spirit of the Lord [c]came upon him mightily so that the ropes that were on his arms were as flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds [d]dropped from his hands. 15 He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, so he [e]reached out and took it and [f]killed (C)a thousand men with it. 16 Then Samson said,

“With the jawbone of a donkey,
[g]Heaps upon heaps,
With the jawbone of a donkey
I have [h]killed a thousand men.”

17 When he had finished speaking, he threw the jawbone from his hand; and he named that place [i]Ramath-lehi. 18 Then he became very thirsty, and he (D)called to the Lord and said, “You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant, and now [j]shall I die of thirst [k]and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?” 19 But God split the hollow place that is in Lehi so that water came out of it. When he drank, (E)his [l]strength returned and he revived. Therefore he named it [m]En-hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day. 20 So (F)he judged Israel twenty years in (G)the days of the Philistines.

Matthew 17:14-21

The Demoniac

14 (A)When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, falling on his knees before Him and saying, 15 [a]Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a [b](B)lunatic and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him.” 17 And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured [c]at once.

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” 20 And He *said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, (C)if you have faith [d]the size of (D)a mustard seed, you will say to (E)this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and (F)nothing will be impossible to you. 21 [[e](G)But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”]
