Psalm 80:1-7

Restore Us, O God

To the choirmaster: according to (A)Lilies. A Testimony. Of (B)Asaph, a Psalm.

80 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,
    you who lead (C)Joseph like (D)a flock.
You who are (E)enthroned upon the cherubim, (F)shine forth.
    Before (G)Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh,
(H)stir up your might
    and (I)come to save us!

(J)Restore us,[a] O God;
    (K)let your face shine, that we may be saved!

O (L)Lord God of hosts,
    (M)how long will you be angry with your people's prayers?
You have fed them with (N)the bread of tears
    and given them tears to drink in full measure.
(O)You make us an object of contention for our (P)neighbors,
    and our enemies laugh among themselves.

(Q)Restore us, O God of hosts;
    let your face shine, that we may be saved!

Isaiah 42:10-18

Sing to the Lord a New Song

10 (A)Sing to the Lord a new song,
    his praise from the end of the earth,
(B)you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it,
    (C)the coastlands and their inhabitants.
11 Let the desert and its cities lift up their voice,
    the villages that (D)Kedar inhabits;
let the habitants of (E)Sela sing for joy,
    let them shout from the top of the mountains.
12 Let them give glory to the Lord,
    and declare his praise in (F)the coastlands.
13 (G)The Lord goes out like a mighty man,
    like a man of war (H)he stirs up his zeal;
he cries out, (I)he shouts aloud,
    he shows himself mighty against his foes.

14 For a long time I have held my peace;
    I have kept still and restrained myself;
now I will cry out (J)like a woman in labor;
    I will gasp and pant.
15 (K)I will lay waste mountains and hills,
    and dry up all their vegetation;
I will turn the rivers into islands,[a]
    and dry up the pools.
16 (L)And I will lead the blind
    in a way that they do not know,
in paths that they have not known
    I will guide them.
I will turn the darkness before them into light,
    (M)the rough places into level ground.
These are the things I do,
    and I do not forsake them.
17 (N)They are turned back and utterly put to shame,
    who trust in carved idols,
who say to metal images,
    “You are our gods.”

Israel's Failure to Hear and See

18 Hear, you deaf,
    and look, you blind, that you may see!

Hebrews 10:32-39

32 But recall the former days when, after (A)you were enlightened, you endured (B)a hard struggle with sufferings, 33 sometimes being (C)publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. 34 For (D)you had compassion on those in prison, and (E)you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had (F)a better possession and an abiding one. 35 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has (G)a great reward. 36 For (H)you have need of endurance, so that (I)when you have done the will of God you may (J)receive what is promised. 37 For,

(K)“Yet a little while,
    and (L)the coming one will come and will not delay;
38 (M)but my righteous one shall live by faith,
    and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pleasure in him.”

39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
