Psalm 89:1-4

The Lords Covenant with David and Israel’s Afflictions.

A [a]Maskil of [b]Ethan [c]the Ezrahite.

89 I will (A)sing of the graciousness of the Lord forever;
To all generations I will (B)make Your (C)faithfulness known with my mouth.
For I have said, “(D)Graciousness will be built up forever;
In the heavens You will establish Your (E)faithfulness.”
“I have made a covenant with (F)My chosen;
I have (G)sworn to My servant David,
I will establish your [d](H)descendants forever
And build up your (I)throne to all generations.” Selah

Psalm 89:19-26

19 [a]Once You spoke in vision to Your godly [b]ones,
And said, “I have [c]given help to one who is (A)mighty;
I have exalted one (B)chosen from the people.
20 I have (C)found My servant David;
With My holy (D)oil I have anointed him,
21 With whom (E)My hand will be established;
My arm also will (F)strengthen him.
22 The enemy will not [d]deceive him,
Nor will the [e](G)son of wickedness afflict him.
23 But I will (H)crush his adversaries before him,
And strike those who hate him.
24 My (I)faithfulness and My favor will be with him,
And in My name his (J)horn will be exalted.
25 I will also place his hand (K)on the sea,
And his right hand on the rivers.
26 He will call to Me, ‘You are (L)my Father,
My God, and the (M)rock of my salvation.’

2 Samuel 6:12-19

The Ark Is Brought to Jerusalem

12 Now it was reported to King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, on account of the ark of God.” (A)So David went and brought the ark of God up from the house of Obed-edom to (B)the city of David with joy. 13 And so it was, that [a]when (C)those carrying the ark of the Lord marched six paces, he sacrificed an (D)ox and a fattened steer. 14 And (E)David was dancing before the Lord with all his strength, and David was (F)wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with joyful shouting and the sound of the trumpet.

16 Then it happened, as the ark of the Lord was coming into the city of David, that (G)Michal the daughter of Saul looked down through the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she was contemptuous of him in her heart.

17 Now they brought in the ark of the Lord and set it (H)in its place inside the tent which David had pitched for it; and (I)David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord. 18 When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, (J)he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of armies. 19 Further, he distributed to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and women, a cake of bread, one of dates, and one of raisins to each one. Then all the people left, each to his house.

Hebrews 1:5-14

For to which of the angels did He ever say,

(A)You are My Son,
Today I have fathered You”?

And again,

(B)I will be a Father to Him
And He will be a Son to Me”?

And [a]when He again (C)brings the firstborn into [b](D)the world, He says,

(E)And let all the angels of God worship Him.”

And regarding the angels He says,

(F)He makes His angels winds,
And His ministers a flame of fire.”

But regarding the Son He says,

(G)Your throne, God, is forever and ever,
And the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of [c]His kingdom.
(H)You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
(I)Therefore God, Your God, has (J)anointed You
With the oil of joy above Your companions.”

10 And,

(K)You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the works of Your hands;
11 (L)They will perish, but You remain;
(M)And they all will [d]wear out like a garment,
12 (N)And like a robe You will roll them up;
Like a garment they will also be changed.
But You are (O)the same,
And Your years will not come to an end.”

13 But to which of the angels has He ever said,

(P)Sit at My right hand,
(Q)Until I make Your enemies
A footstool for Your feet”?

14 Are they not all (R)ministering spirits, sent out to provide service for the sake of those who will (S)inherit (T)salvation?
