126 When the Lord ^(B)restored the fortunes of Zion,
    we were like those who ^(C)dream.
² Then our ^(D)mouth was filled with laughter,
    and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then they said among the nations,
    ^(E)“The Lord has done great things for them.”
³ The Lord has done great things for us;
    we are glad.
⁴ Restore our fortunes, O Lord,
    like streams in the Negeb!
^5 (F)Those who sow in tears
    shall reap with shouts of joy!
⁶ He who goes out weeping,
    bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
    bringing his sheaves with him.

² O Lord, ^(A)I have heard the report of you,
    and ^(B)your work, O Lord, do I fear.
In the midst of the years ^(C)revive it;
    in the midst of the years make it known;
    ^(D)in wrath remember mercy.
³ God came from ^(E)Teman,
    ^(F)and the Holy One from Mount Paran.
His splendour covered the heavens,
    and the earth was full of his praise. Selah
^4 (G)His brightness was like the light;
    rays flashed from his hand;
    and there he veiled his power.
^5 (H)Before him went pestilence,
    and plague followed ^(I)at his heels.^[a]
6 He stood ^(J)and measured the earth;
    he looked and shook the nations;
then the ^(K)eternal mountains ^(L)were scattered;
    the everlasting hills sank low.
    His were ^(M)the everlasting ways.
