Psalm 126

Restore Our Fortunes, O Lord

A Song of (A)Ascents.

126 When the Lord (B)restored the fortunes of Zion,
    we were like those who (C)dream.
Then our (D)mouth was filled with laughter,
    and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then they said among the nations,
    (E)“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us;
    we are glad.
Restore our fortunes, O Lord,
    like streams in the Negeb!
(F)Those who sow in tears
    shall reap with shouts of joy!
He who goes out weeping,
    bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
    bringing his sheaves with him.

Habakkuk 3:2-6

O Lord, (A)I have heard the report of you,
    and (B)your work, O Lord, do I fear.
In the midst of the years (C)revive it;
    in the midst of the years make it known;
    (D)in wrath remember mercy.
God came from (E)Teman,
    (F)and the Holy One from Mount Paran.
His splendour covered the heavens,
    and the earth was full of his praise. Selah
(G)His brightness was like the light;
    rays flashed from his hand;
    and there he veiled his power.
(H)Before him went pestilence,
    and plague followed (I)at his heels.[a]
He stood (J)and measured the earth;
    he looked and shook the nations;
then the (K)eternal mountains (L)were scattered;
    the everlasting hills sank low.
    His were (M)the everlasting ways.

Philippians 3:12-16

Straining Towards the Goal

12 Not that I have already (A)obtained this or (B)am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: (C)forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on towards the goal for (D)the prize of the upward (E)call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are (F)mature think this way, and if in anything (G)you think otherwise, (H)God will reveal that also to you. 16 Only (I)let us hold true to what we have attained.
