Psalm 85:1-2

Revive Us Again

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of (A)the Sons of Korah.

85 Lord, you were (B)favourable to your land;
    you (C)restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You (D)forgave the iniquity of your people;
    you (E)covered all their sin. Selah

Psalm 85:8-13

(A)Let me hear what God the Lord will speak,
    for he will (B)speak peace to his people, to his (C)saints;
    but let them not (D)turn back to (E)folly.
Surely his (F)salvation is near to those who fear him,
    that (G)glory may dwell in our land.
10 (H)Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
    (I)righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs up from the ground,
    and righteousness looks down from the sky.
12 Yes, (J)the Lord will give what is good,
    and our land (K)will yield its increase.
13 (L)Righteousness will go before him
    and make his footsteps a way.

Hosea 6:1-6

Israel and Judah Are Unrepentant

“Come, let us (A)return to the Lord;
    for (B)he has torn us, that he may heal us;
    he has struck us down, and (C)he will bind us up.
After two days (D)he will revive us;
    on the third day he will raise us up,
    that we may live before him.
(E)Let us know; (F)let us press on to know the Lord;
    (G)his going out is sure as the dawn;
he will come to us (H)as the showers,
    (I)as the spring rains that water the earth.”
What shall I do with you, (J)O (K)Ephraim?
    What shall I do with you, O (L)Judah?
Your love is (M)like a morning cloud,
    (N)like the dew that goes early away.
Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets;
    I have slain them (O)by the words of my mouth,
    and my judgement goes forth as the light.
For (P)I desire steadfast love[a] and not sacrifice,
    (Q)the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

1 Thessalonians 1:2-10

The Thessalonians' Faith and Example

(A)We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly[a] (B)mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before (C)our God and Father (D)your work of faith and labour of (E)love and (F)steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, (G)brothers[b] loved by God, (H)that he has chosen you, because (I)our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and (J)in the Holy Spirit and with full (K)conviction. You know (L)what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. And (M)you became imitators of us (N)and of the Lord, for (O)you received the word in much affliction, (P)with the (Q)joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For not only has the word of the Lord (R)sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth (S)everywhere, so that we need not say anything. For they themselves report concerning us the kind of (T)reception we had among you, and how (U)you turned to God (V)from idols to serve the living and (W)true God, 10 and (X)to wait for his Son (Y)from heaven, (Z)whom he raised from the dead, Jesus (AA)who delivers us from (AB)the wrath to come.
