Psalm 87

The Privileges of Citizenship in Zion.

A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song.

87 His (A)foundation is in the holy mountains.
The Lord (B)loves the gates of Zion
More than all the other dwelling places of Jacob.
(C)Glorious things are spoken of you,
(D)City of God. Selah
“I shall mention [a](E)Rahab and Babylon [b]among those who know Me;
Behold, Philistia and (F)Tyre with [c](G)Cush:
‘This one was born there.’”
But of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one were born in her”;
And the Most High Himself will (H)establish her.
The Lord will count when He (I)registers the peoples,
“This one was born there.” Selah
Then those who (J)sing as well as those who [d](K)play the flutes will say,
“All my (L)springs of joy are in you.”

Isaiah 43:8-13

Israel Is God’s Witness

Bring out the people who are (A)blind, even though they have eyes,
And those who are deaf, even though they have ears.
All the nations have (B)gathered together
So that the peoples may be assembled.
Who among them can (C)declare this
And proclaim to us the former things?
Let them present (D)their witnesses so (E)that they may be justified,
Or let them hear and say, “It is true.”
10 “You are (F)My witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“And (G)My servant whom I have chosen,
So that you may know and believe Me
And understand that (H)I am He.
(I)Before Me there was no God formed,
And there will be none after Me.
11 I, only I, am the Lord,
And there is no (J)savior (K)besides Me.
12 It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed,
And there was no (L)strange god among you;
So you are My witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“And I am God.
13 Even [a](M)from eternity (N)I am He,
And there is (O)no one who can rescue from My hand;
(P)I act, and who can reverse it?”

Romans 11:13-29

13 But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Therefore insofar as (A)I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry 14 if somehow I may (B)move (C)my [a]own people to jealousy and (D)save some of them. 15 For if their rejection proves to be the (E)reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but (F)life from the dead? 16 If the (G)first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are as well.

17 But if some of the (H)branches were broken off, and (I)you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the [b]rich root of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that (J)it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. 19 (K)You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you (L)stand by your faith. (M)Do not be conceited, but fear; 21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. 22 See then the kindness and severity of God: to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s (N)kindness, (O)if you continue in His kindness; for otherwise you too (P)will be cut off. 23 And they also, (Q)if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in; for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?

25 For (R)I do not want you, brothers and sisters, to be uninformed of this (S)mystery—so that you will not be (T)wise in your own estimation—that a partial (U)hardening has happened to Israel until the (V)fullness of the Gentiles has come in; 26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written:

(W)The Deliverer will come from Zion,
He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”
27 (X)This is [c]My covenant with them,
(Y)When I take away their sins.”

28 In relation to the gospel they are (Z)enemies on your account, but in relation to God’s choice they are beloved (AA)on account of the fathers; 29 for the gifts and the (AB)calling of God (AC)are irrevocable.
