Psalm 99

The Lord Our God Is Holy

99 (A)The Lord reigns; (B)let the peoples tremble!
    He (C)sits enthroned upon the cherubim; (D)let the earth quake!
The Lord is (E)great in Zion;
    he is (F)exalted over all the peoples.
Let them praise your (G)great and awesome name!
    (H)Holy is he!
(I)The King in his might (J)loves justice.[a]
    You have established equity;
you have executed justice
    and righteousness in Jacob.
(K)Exalt the Lord our God;
    (L)worship at his (M)footstool!
    (N)Holy is he!
(O)Moses and Aaron were among his (P)priests,
    Samuel also was among those who (Q)called upon his name.
    They (R)called to the Lord, and he answered them.
In (S)the pillar of the cloud he spoke to them;
    they (T)kept his testimonies
    and the statute that he gave them.
O Lord our God, you answered them;
    you were (U)a forgiving God to them,
    but (V)an avenger of their wrongdoings.
Exalt the Lord our God,
    and worship at his (W)holy mountain;
    for the Lord our God is holy!

Numbers 16:41-50

41 But on the next day all the congregation of the people of Israel (A)grumbled against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed the people of the Lord.” 42 And when the congregation had assembled against Moses and against Aaron, they turned towards the tent of meeting. And behold, (B)the cloud covered it, and (C)the glory of the Lord appeared. 43 And Moses and Aaron came to the front of the tent of meeting, 44 and the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 45 (D)“Get away from the midst of this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.” (E)And they fell on their faces. 46 And Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, and put fire on it from the altar and lay incense on it and carry it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for (F)wrath has gone out from the Lord; the plague has begun.” 47 So Aaron took it as Moses said and ran into the midst of the assembly. And behold, the plague had already begun among the people. And he put on the incense and made atonement for the people. 48 And he stood between the dead and the living, and (G)the plague was stopped. 49 Now those who died in the plague were 14,700, (H)besides those who died in the affair of Korah. 50 And Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance of the tent of meeting, when the plague was stopped.

1 Peter 4:7-11

(A)The end of all things is at hand; therefore (B)be self-controlled and sober-minded (C)for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since (D)love covers a multitude of sins. (E)Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 (F)As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, (G)as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks (H)oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves (I)by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything (J)God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. (K)To him belong glory and (L)dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
