Psalm 40:1-8

The One Who Rescues Me

For the choir director. Of David. A Psalm.

40 I (A)hoped [a]earnestly for Yahweh;
And He inclined to me and (B)heard my cry for help.
He brought me up out of the (C)pit of destruction, out of the [b]miry clay,
And (D)He set my feet upon a high rock, (E)He established my steps.
He put a (F)new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will (G)see and fear
And will trust in Yahweh.

How (H)blessed is the man who has made Yahweh his trust,
And (I)has not [c]turned to the proud, nor to those who (J)stray into falsehood.
Many, O Yahweh my God, are (K)the wondrous deeds You have done,
And Your (L)thoughts toward us;
There is none to compare with You.
I would declare and speak of them,
But they (M)are too numerous to recount.

[d](N)Sacrifice and meal offering [e]You have not desired;
My ears You have [f]opened;
Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is [g]written of me.
(O)I desire to do Your will, O my God;
(P)Your law is within my inner being.”

Leviticus 15:25-31

25 (A)Now if a woman has a discharge of her blood many days, not at the period of her menstrual impurity, or if she has a discharge beyond [a]that period, all the days of her unclean discharge she shall continue as though [b]in her menstrual impurity; she is unclean. 26 Any bed on which she lies all the days of her discharge shall be to her like [c]her bed at menstruation; and every thing on which she sits shall be unclean, like her uncleanness from her menstrual impurity. 27 Likewise, whoever touches them shall be unclean and shall wash his clothes and bathe in water and be unclean until evening. 28 Now if she becomes clean from her discharge, she shall count off for herself seven days; and afterward she will be clean. 29 Then on the eighth day she shall take for herself two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them in to the priest, to the doorway of the tent of meeting. 30 And the priest shall [d]offer the (B)one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. So the priest shall make atonement on her behalf before Yahweh because of her unclean discharge.’

31 “Thus you shall keep the sons of Israel separated from their uncleanness, so that they will not die in their uncleanness by (C)making My [e]tabernacle that is among them unclean.”

Leviticus 22:1-9

Various Statutes for Priests

22 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Tell Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy gifts of the sons of Israel, which they set apart to Me as holy, so as not to profane My holy name; I am Yahweh. Say to them, ‘(A)If any man among all your seed throughout your generations comes near to the holy gifts which the sons of Israel set apart as holy to Yahweh, and he has an uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from before Me; I am Yahweh. (B)No man of the seed of Aaron, who is a leper or who has a discharge, may eat of the holy gifts until he is clean. (C)And if one touches anything made unclean by a corpse, or if (D)a man has a seminal emission, or (E)if a man touches any teeming things by which he is made unclean or any man by whom he is made unclean, whatever his uncleanness, a [a]person who touches any such thing shall be unclean until evening and shall not eat of the holy gifts unless he has bathed his [b]body in water. But the sun will set, and he will be clean. And afterward he shall eat of the holy gifts, for (F)it is his [c]food. He shall not eat (G)an animal which dies or is torn by beasts, becoming unclean by it; I am Yahweh. They shall therefore keep (H)My charge so that (I)they will not bear sin because of it and die thereby because they profane it; I am Yahweh who makes them holy.

2 Corinthians 6:14-7:2

14 (A)Do not be unequally yoked with (B)unbelievers; for what (C)partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 Or what (D)harmony has Christ with [a]Belial, or [b]what has a (E)believer in common with an (F)unbeliever? 16 Or (G)what agreement has a [c]sanctuary of God with idols? For we are (H)a sanctuary of (I)the living God; just as God said,

(J)I will (K)dwell in them and (L)walk among them;
And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17 (M)Therefore, (N)come out from their midst and be separate,” says the [d]Lord.
And do not touch what is unclean,
And I will welcome you.
18 (O)And I will be a father to you,
And you shall be (P)sons and daughters to Me,”
says the [e]Lord Almighty.

Therefore, having these promises, (Q)beloved, (R)let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Godly Sorrow Produces Repentance

(S)Make room for us in your hearts. We wronged no one, we corrupted no one, we took advantage of no one.
