Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
61 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For Thou hast been a shelter for me and a strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in Thy tabernacle for ever; I will trust in the refuge of Thy wings. Selah
5 For Thou, O God, hast heard my vows; Thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear Thy name.
6 Thou wilt prolong the king’s life, and his years shall be as many generations.
7 He shall abide before God for ever; O prepare mercy and truth, that they may preserve him.
8 So will I sing praise unto Thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.
3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done,
4 save that the high places were not removed; the people sacrificed and burned incense still on the high places.
5 And the Lord smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land.
6 And the rest of the acts of Azariah and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
7 So Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the City of David; and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth and commanded them, saying, “Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not.
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.’
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils. Freely ye have received; freely give.
9 Provide neither gold nor silver nor brass in your purses,
10 nor pack for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves; for the workman is worthy of his meat.
11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till ye go thence.
12 And when ye come into a house, salute it,
13 and if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 Verily I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Day of Judgment than for that city.
