Version
Psalm 112

112 Blessed is the man who fears the LORD and delights greatly in His Commandments.

His seed shall be mighty upon Earth. The generation of the righteous shall be blessed.

Riches and treasures shall be in his house and his righteousness endures forever.

To the righteous arises light in darkness. He is merciful and full of compassion, and righteous.

A good man is merciful and lends. He will measure his affairs by judgment.

Surely, he shall never be moved. The righteous shall be held in everlasting remembrance.

He will not be afraid of evil tidings. His heart is fixed, believing in the LORD.

His heart is established. He will not fear, until he sees his desire upon his enemies.

He has distributed, given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever. His horn shall be exalted with glory.

10 The wicked shall see it and be angry. He shall gnash with his teeth and melt away. The desire of the wicked shall perish. Praise the LORD

Proverbs 21:1-4

21 In the hand of the LORD, the king’s heart is as the rivers of waters. He turns it wherever it pleases him.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes. But the LORD ponders the hearts.

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

A haughty look and a proud heart (the light of the wicked) is sin.

Proverbs 21:24-26

24 Proud, haughty, and scornful are his name who works wrath in his arrogance.

25 The desire of the slothful slays him; for his hands refuse to work.

26 He always covets greedily. But the righteous gives and does not spare.

Matthew 20:20-28

20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s children came to Him with her sons, worshipping, and desiring a certain thing of Him.

21 “And he said to her, “What do you wish?” She said to him, “Grant that these, my two sons, may sit - the one at Your right hand and the other at Your left hand - in Your Kingdom.”

22 And Jesus answered, and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink from the cup from which I shall drink, and to be baptized with the baptism with which I shall be baptized?” They said to Him, “We are able.”

23 And He said to them, “You shall indeed drink from My cup, and shall be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized. But to sit at My right hand, and at My left hand, is not Mine to give. But it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared by My Father.”

24 And when the other ten heard this, they were angry at the two brothers.

25 Therefore Jesus called them to Him, and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them. And those who are great, exercise authority over them.

26 “But it shall not be so among you. But whoever will be great among you, let him be your servant.

27 “And whoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant;

28 “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life for the ransom of many.”
