Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
11 For Your Name’s sake, O LORD, be merciful to my iniquity. For it is great.
12 What man is he who fears the LORD? He will teach him the way he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the land.
14 The secret of the LORD is revealed to those who fear Him, and His Covenant, to give them understanding.
15 My eyes are ever toward the LORD. For He will bring my feet out of the net.
16 Turn Your face to me; and have mercy upon me. For I am desolate and poor.
17 The sorrows of my heart are enlarged. Draw me out of my troubles.
18 Look upon my affliction, and my travail, and forgive all my sins.
19 Behold my enemies, for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 Keep my soul and deliver me. Let me not be confounded; for I trust in You.
24 “How should not the times be hidden from the Almighty, seeing that those who know Him do not see
2 “Some remove the landmarks, those who rob the flocks and feed on them.
3 “They lead away the donkey of the fatherless and take the widow’s ox to pledge.
4 “They make the poor turn out of the way, so that the poor of the Earth hide themselves together.
5 “Behold, others as wild donkeys in the wilderness go forth to their business and rise early for a prey. The wilderness gives him and his children food.
6 “They reap his provision in the field, but they gather the late vintage of the wicked.
7 “They cause the naked to lodge without garment, and without covering in the cold.
8 “They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and they embrace the rock for want of a covering.
2 My brothers, do not hold the faith of our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with favoritism.
2 For if a man with a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly. And then, also, a poor man in rags comes in—
3 and you have respect for the one wearing the fine clothing, saying to him, “Sit here in a good place”, yet you say to the poor, “Stand over there”, or “Sit here under my footstool” —
4 are you not partial among yourselves, becoming judges of evil thoughts?
5 Listen, my beloved brothers. Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
6 But you have despised the poor. Do not the rich oppress you by tyranny? And do they not draw you before the judgment seats?
7 Do they not blaspheme the worthy Name after which you are named?
