Psalm 25:1-10

25 Unto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul;

O my God, I trust in Thee. Let me not be ashamed; let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on Thee be ashamed; let them be ashamed that transgress without cause.

Show me Thy ways, O Lord; teach me Thy paths.

Lead me in Thy truth and teach me, for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day.

Remember, O Lord, Thy tender mercies and Thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to Thy mercy remember Thou me, for Thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord; therefore will He teach sinners in the way.

The meek will He guide in judgment, and the meek will He teach His way.

10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, unto them that keep His covenant and His testimonies.

Genesis 41:37-49

37 And the counsel was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants.

38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, “Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?”

39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, “Inasmuch as God hath shown thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art.

40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled. Only in the throne will I be greater than thou.”

41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, “See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.”

42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck.

43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, “Bow the knee!” And he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

45 And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him for a wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah, priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

46 And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

47 And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities; the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.

49 And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea — very much, until he left off numbering; for it was without number.

Acts 7:9-16

And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him

10 and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

11 “Now there came a dearth and great affliction over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and our fathers found no sustenance.

12 But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he first sent out our fathers.

13 And on the second visit Joseph was made known to his brethren, and Joseph’s kindred were made known unto Pharaoh.

14 Then Joseph sent and called his father Jacob to him and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.

15 So Jacob went down into Egypt and died, he and our fathers.

16 And they were carried back into Shechem, and laid in the sepulcher that Abraham had bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem.
