Psalm 81:1-10

Oh That My People Would Listen to Me

For the choir director. According to the Gittith. Of Asaph.

81 (A)Sing for joy to God our (B)strength;
Make a loud (C)shout to the (D)God of Jacob.
Lift up a song of praise, strike (E)the tambourine,
The sweet sounding (F)lyre with the (G)harp.
Blow the trumpet at the (H)new moon,
At the full moon, on our (I)feast day.
For it is a statute for Israel,
(J)A judgment of the God of Jacob.
He established it for a testimony in Joseph
When he (K)went forth over the land of Egypt.
I heard a (L)language that I did not know:

“I [a](M)relieved his shoulder of the burden,
His hands were freed from the [b]basket.
You (N)called in distress and I rescued you;
I (O)answered you in the hiding place of thunder;
I tested you at the (P)waters of Meribah. [c]Selah.
(Q)Hear, O My people, and I will testify against you;
O Israel, if you (R)would listen to Me!
Let there be no (S)strange god among you;
And you shall not worship a foreign god.
10 (T)I am Yahweh your God,
Who brought you up from the land of Egypt;
(U)Open your mouth wide and I will (V)fill it.

Leviticus 24:5-9

(A)Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake. And you shall set them in two rows, six to a row, on the (B)pure gold table before Yahweh. And you shall put pure frankincense on each row that it may be (C)a memorial portion for the bread, even an offering by fire to Yahweh. (D)Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before Yahweh (E)continually; it is an everlasting covenant [a]for the sons of Israel. (F)And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the offerings to Yahweh by fire, his portion forever.”

John 7:19-24

19 (A)Did not Moses give you the Law? And yet none of you does the Law. Why do you (B)seek to kill Me?” 20 The crowd answered, “(C)You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?” 21 Jesus answered them, “I did (D)one work, and you all marvel. 22 For this reason (E)Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from (F)the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man. 23 (G)If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath? 24 Do not (H)judge according to appearance, but [a]judge with righteous judgment.”
