Psalm 25:1-10

A Psalm of David.

Aleph

¶ Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

Beth

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.

Gimel

Yea, none that wait on thee shall be ashamed; those which rebel without cause shall be ashamed.

Daleth

Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

He

Cause me to walk in thy truth and teach me: for thou art the God of my saving health; I have waited for thee all the day.

Vau

Remember, O LORD, thy compassion and thy mercies, for they have been ever of old.

Zain

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my rebellions; according to thy mercy remember me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.

Cheth

¶ Good and upright is the LORD: therefore he will teach sinners in the way.

Teth

He will cause the humble to pass through the judgment, and the meek he will teach his way.

Jod

10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Genesis 41:37-49

37 And the word was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his slaves.

38 And Pharaoh said unto his slaves, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God has showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art.

40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled; only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42 Then Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand and put it upon Joseph’s hand and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen and put a gold chain about his neck;

43 and he made him to ride in his second chariot; and they cried before him, Abrech Tender Father-honour this one as a precious father; and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee no one shall lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

45 And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnathpaaneah, and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

46 ¶ And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

47 And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt and laid up the food in the cities, placing in each city the food of the field, which was round about.

49 And Joseph gathered wheat as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left off numbering; for it was without number.

Acts 7:9-16

And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt, but God was with him

10 and delivered him out of all his afflictions and gave him grace and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

11 Now there came a famine over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great tribulation, and our fathers found no sustenance.

12 But when Jacob heard that there was wheat in Egypt, he sent our fathers the first time.

13 And in the second Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph’s lineage was made known unto Pharaoh.

14 Then Joseph sent and called his father Jacob unto him and all his kindred, seventy-five souls.

15 So Jacob went down into Egypt and died, he and our fathers,

16 who were carried over into Shechem and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor of Shechem.
