M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
Abijam Reigns over Judah
15 (A)Now in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, Abijam became king over Judah. 2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was [a](B)Maacah the daughter of [b](C)Abishalom. 3 He walked in all the sins of his father which he had committed before him; and (D)his heart was not [c]wholly devoted to the Lord his God, like the heart of his father David. 4 But for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a (E)lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem; 5 (F)because David did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and had not turned aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, (G)except in the case of Uriah the Hittite. 6 (H)There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7 Now (I)the rest of the acts of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? (J)And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
Asa Succeeds Abijam
8 (K)And Abijam slept with his fathers and they buried him in the city of David; and Asa his son became king in his place.
9 So in the twentieth year of Jeroboam the king of Israel, Asa began to reign as king of Judah. 10 He reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem; and (L)his mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom. 11 (M)Asa did what was right in the sight of the Lord, like David his father. 12 (N)He also put away the male cult prostitutes from the land and (O)removed all the idols which his fathers had made. 13 [d](P)He also removed Maacah his mother from being queen mother, because she had made a horrid image [e]as an Asherah; and Asa cut down her horrid image and (Q)burned it at the brook Kidron. 14 (R)But the high places were not taken away; nevertheless (S)the heart of Asa was [f]wholly devoted to the Lord all his days. 15 (T)He brought into the house of the Lord the dedicated things of his father and his own dedicated things: silver and gold and utensils.
16 (U)Now there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. 17 (V)Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and [g](W)fortified Ramah (X)in order to prevent anyone from going out or coming in to Asa king of Judah. 18 Then (Y)Asa took all the silver and the gold which were left in the treasuries of the house of the Lord and the treasuries of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants. And (Z)King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Aram, who lived in (AA)Damascus, saying, 19 “Let there be a (AB)treaty between [h]you and me, as between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you a present of silver and gold; go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so that he will withdraw from me.” 20 So Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel, and [i]conquered (AC)Ijon, (AD)Dan, (AE)Abel-beth-maacah and all (AF)Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali. 21 When Baasha heard of it, (AG)he ceased [j]fortifying Ramah and remained in (AH)Tirzah. 22 Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah—none was exempt—and they carried away the stones of Ramah and its timber with which Baasha had built. And King Asa built with them (AI)Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.
Jehoshaphat Succeeds Asa
23 (AJ)Now the rest of all the acts of Asa and all his might and all that he did and the cities which he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet. 24 And Asa slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and (AK)Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.
Nadab, then Baasha, Rules over Israel
25 Now (AL)Nadab the son of Jeroboam became king over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years. 26 He did evil in the sight of the Lord, and (AM)walked in the way of his father and (AN)in his sin which he made Israel sin. 27 Then (AO)Baasha the son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha struck him down at (AP)Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, while Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.
28 So Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah and reigned in his place. 29 It came about as soon as he was king, he struck down all the household of Jeroboam. He did not leave to Jeroboam [k]any persons alive, until he had destroyed them, (AQ)according to the word of the Lord, which He spoke by His servant Ahijah the Shilonite, 30 and because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and (AR)which he made Israel sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger.
31 (AS)Now the rest of the acts of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
War with Judah
32 (AT)There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah became king over all Israel at Tirzah, and reigned twenty-four years. 34 He did evil in the sight of the Lord, and (AU)walked in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin which he made Israel sin.
You Are Built Up in Christ
2 For I want you to know how great a (A)struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at (B)Laodicea, and for all those who have not [a]personally seen my face, 2 that their (C)hearts may be encouraged, having been (D)knit together in love, and attaining to all (E)the wealth [b]that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a (F)true knowledge of (G)God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all (H)the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 (I)I say this so that no one will delude you with (J)persuasive argument. 5 For even though I am (K)absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing [c]to see [d]your (L)good discipline and the (M)stability of your faith in Christ.
6 Therefore as you have received (N)Christ Jesus the Lord, so [e](O)walk in Him, 7 having been firmly (P)rooted and now being (Q)built up in Him and (R)established [f]in your faith, just as you (S)were instructed, and overflowing [g]with gratitude.
8 (T)See to it that no one takes you captive through (U)philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the (V)elementary principles of the world, [h]rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the (W)fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been (X)made [i]complete, and (Y)He is the head [j]over all (Z)rule and authority; 11 and in Him (AA)you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of (AB)the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12 having been (AC)buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also (AD)raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who (AE)raised Him from the dead. 13 When you were (AF)dead [k]in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He (AG)made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out (AH)the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and (AI)He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 When He had [l](AJ)disarmed the (AK)rulers and authorities, He (AL)made a public display of them, having (AM)triumphed over them through [m]Him.
16 Therefore no one is to [n](AN)act as your judge in regard to (AO)food or (AP)drink or in respect to a (AQ)festival or a (AR)new moon or a (AS)Sabbath [o]day— 17 things which are (AT)a mere shadow of what is to come; but the [p]substance [q]belongs to Christ. 18 Let no one keep [r](AU)defrauding you of your prize by (AV)delighting in [s]self-abasement and the worship of the angels, [t]taking his stand on visions he has seen, [u](AW)inflated without cause by his (AX)fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to (AY)the head, from whom (AZ)the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and [v]ligaments, grows with a growth [w]which is from God.
20 (BA)If you have died with Christ [x]to the (BB)elementary principles of the world, (BC)why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to (BD)decrees, such as, 21 “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 22 (which all refer (BE)to things destined to perish [y]with use)—in accordance with the (BF)commandments and teachings of men? 23 These are matters which have, to be sure, the [z]appearance of wisdom in [aa](BG)self-made religion and self-abasement and (BH)severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against (BI)fleshly indulgence.
The Lord’s Portion of the Land
45 “And when you (A)divide by lot the land for inheritance, you shall offer [a]an (B)allotment to the Lord, a (C)holy portion of the land; the length shall be the length of 25,000 (D)cubits, and the width shall be [b]20,000. It shall be holy within all its boundary round about. 2 Out of this there shall be for the holy place a square round about (E)five hundred by five hundred cubits, and fifty cubits for its [c](F)open space round about. 3 From this [d]area you shall measure a length of 25,000 cubits and a width of 10,000 cubits; and in it shall be the sanctuary, the most holy place. 4 It shall be the holy portion of the land; it shall be for the (G)priests, the ministers of the sanctuary, who (H)come near to minister to the Lord, and it shall be a place for their houses and a holy place for the sanctuary. 5 An area (I)25,000 cubits in length and 10,000 in width shall be for the Levites, the ministers of the house, and for their possession [e]cities to dwell in.
6 “You shall give the (J)city possession of an area 5,000 cubits wide and 25,000 cubits long, alongside the [f]allotment of the holy portion; it shall be for the whole house of Israel.
Portion for the Prince
7 “The (K)prince shall have land on either side of the holy [g]allotment and the [h]property of the city, adjacent to the holy [i]allotment and the [j]property of the city, on the west side toward the west and on the east side toward the east, and in length comparable to one of the portions, from the west border to the east border. 8 This shall be his land for a possession in Israel; so My princes shall no longer (L)oppress My people, but they shall give the rest of the land to the house of Israel (M)according to their tribes.”
9 ‘Thus says the Lord [k]God, “(N)Enough, you princes of Israel; put away (O)violence and destruction, and (P)practice justice and righteousness. Stop your (Q)expropriations from My people,” declares the Lord God.
10 “You shall have (R)just balances, a just (S)ephah and a just (T)bath. 11 The ephah and the bath shall be [l]the same quantity, so that the bath will contain a tenth of a (U)homer and the ephah a tenth of a homer; [m]their standard shall be according to the homer. 12 The (V)shekel shall be twenty (W)gerahs; twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, and fifteen shekels shall be your [n]maneh.
13 “This is the offering that you shall offer: a sixth of an ephah from a homer of wheat; a sixth of an ephah from a homer of barley; 14 and the prescribed portion of oil (namely, the bath of oil), a tenth of a bath from each kor (which is ten baths or a homer, for ten baths are a homer); 15 and one sheep from each flock of two hundred from the watering places of Israel—for a (X)grain offering, for a burnt offering and for peace offerings, to (Y)make atonement for them,” declares the Lord God. 16 “(Z)All the people of the land shall [o]give to this offering for the (AA)prince in Israel. 17 It shall be the (AB)prince’s part to provide the (AC)burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the drink offerings, at the (AD)feasts, on the (AE)new moons and on the sabbaths, at all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel; he shall provide the sin offering, the grain offering, the burnt offering and the (AF)peace offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.”
18 ‘Thus says the Lord God, “In the (AG)first month, on the first of the month, you shall take a young bull (AH)without blemish and (AI)cleanse the sanctuary. 19 The priest shall take some of the blood from the sin offering and put it on the door posts of the house, on the (AJ)four corners of the (AK)ledge of the altar and on the posts of the gate of the inner court. 20 Thus you shall do on the seventh day of the month for everyone who goes (AL)astray or is [p]naive; so you shall make (AM)atonement for the house.
21 “In the (AN)first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall have the (AO)Passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten. 22 On that day the prince shall provide for himself and all the people of the land a (AP)bull for a sin offering. 23 During the (AQ)seven days of the feast he shall provide as a (AR)burnt offering to the Lord (AS)seven bulls and seven rams without blemish on every day of the seven days, and a male goat daily for a sin offering. 24 He shall provide as a (AT)grain offering an ephah [q]with a bull, an ephah [r]with a ram and a hin of oil [s]with an ephah. 25 In the (AU)seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, at the feast, he shall provide like this, seven days [t]for the sin offering, the burnt offering, the grain offering and the oil.”
Praise to the Lord for His Fidelity to Israel.
99 (A)The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble;
He [a](B)is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake!
2 The Lord [b]is (C)great in Zion,
And He is (D)exalted above all the peoples.
3 Let them praise Your (E)great and awesome name;
(F)Holy is [c]He.
4 The [d]strength of the King (G)loves [e]justice;
You have established [f](H)equity;
You have (I)executed [g]justice and righteousness in Jacob.
5 [h](J)Exalt the Lord our God
And (K)worship at His footstool;
(L)Holy is He.
6 (M)Moses and Aaron were among His (N)priests,
And (O)Samuel was among those who (P)called on His name;
They (Q)called upon the Lord and He answered them.
7 He (R)spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;
They (S)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
8 O Lord our God, You (T)answered them;
You were a (U)forgiving God to them,
And yet an (V)avenger of their evil deeds.
9 Exalt the Lord our God
And worship at His holy hill,
For holy is the Lord our God.
All Men Exhorted to Praise God.

2 (X)Serve the Lord with gladness;
(Y)Come before Him with joyful singing.
3 Know that (Z)the Lord [j]Himself is God;
It is He who has (AA)made us, and [k]not we ourselves;
We are (AB)His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter His gates (AC)with [l]thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, (AD)bless His name.
5 For (AE)the Lord is good;
(AF)His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His (AG)faithfulness to all generations.
The Psalmist’s Profession of Uprightness.
A Psalm of David.
101 I will (AH)sing of lovingkindness and [m]justice,
To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.
2 I will [n](AI)give heed to the [o]blameless way.
When will You come to me?
I will walk within my house in the [p](AJ)integrity of my heart.
3 I will set no (AK)worthless thing before my eyes;
I hate the [q]work of those who (AL)fall away;
It shall not fasten its grip on me.
4 A (AM)perverse heart shall depart from me;
I will know no evil.
5 Whoever secretly (AN)slanders his neighbor, him I will [r]destroy;
No one who has a (AO)haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure.
6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me;
He who walks in a [s](AP)blameless way is the one who will minister to me.
7 He who (AQ)practices deceit shall not dwell within my house;
He who speaks falsehood (AR)shall not [t]maintain his position before me.
8 (AS)Every morning I will [u](AT)destroy all the wicked of the land,
So as to (AU)cut off from the (AV)city of the Lord all those who do iniquity.
