³ And He will delight in the fear of the Lord,
And He will not judge by what His eyes ^(A)see,
Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;
⁴ But with ^(B)righteousness He will judge the ^(C)poor,
And decide with fairness for the ^(D)afflicted of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the ^(E)rod of His mouth,
And with the ^(F)breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.
⁵ Also ^(G)righteousness will be the belt about His loins,
And ^(H)faithfulness the belt about His waist.

⁵ “Behold, the ^(A)days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“When I will raise up for David a righteous ^[a](B)Branch;
And He will ^(C)reign as king and ^[b]act wisely
And ^(D)do justice and righteousness in the land.

⁷ ‘He ^[a]destroyed their ^[b]fortified towers
And laid waste their cities;
And the land and its fullness were appalled
Because of the sound of his roaring.
