Psalm 132

Yahweh Has Chosen Zion

A Song of Ascents.

132 Remember, O Yahweh, on David’s behalf,
All (A)his affliction;
How he swore to Yahweh
And vowed to (B)the Mighty One of Jacob,
“Surely I will not come into [a](C)my house,
Nor [b]lie in the [c]comfort of my bed;
I will not (D)give sleep to my eyes
Or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find a (E)place for Yahweh,
[d]A dwelling place for (F)the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Behold, we heard of it in (G)Ephrathah,
We found it in the (H)fields of [e]Jaar.
Let us come into His [f](I)dwelling place;
Let us (J)worship at the (K)footstool of His feet.
(L)Arise, O Yahweh, to Your (M)resting place,
You and the ark of Your (N)strength.
Let Your priests be (O)clothed with righteousness,
And let Your (P)holy ones sing for joy.

10 For the sake of David Your servant,
Do not turn away the face of Your (Q)anointed.
11 Yahweh has (R)sworn to David
A truth from which He will not turn back:
(S)Of the fruit of your [g]body I will set upon your throne.
12 If your sons keep My covenant
And My testimony which I will teach them,
Their sons also shall (T)sit upon your throne forever.”

13 For Yahweh has (U)chosen Zion;
He has (V)desired it for His habitation.
14 “This is My (W)resting place forever;
Here I will (X)inhabit, for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly (Y)bless her provision;
I will (Z)satisfy her needy with bread.
16 Her (AA)priests also I will clothe with salvation,
And her (AB)holy ones will sing loudly for joy.
17 There I will cause the (AC)horn of David to spring up;
I have prepared a (AD)lamp for Mine anointed.
18 His enemies I will (AE)clothe with shame,
But upon him, his (AF)crown shall blossom.”

Isaiah 11:1-10

The Judgments of the Branch

11 Then a (A)shoot will spring from the (B)stem of Jesse,
And a (C)branch from (D)his roots will bear fruit.
The (E)Spirit of Yahweh will rest on Him,
The spirit of (F)wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and (G)might,
The spirit of knowledge and the fear of Yahweh.
And He will delight in the fear of Yahweh,
And He will not judge by what His eyes (H)see,
Nor render a decision by what His ears hear;
But with (I)righteousness He will judge the (J)poor,
And decide with uprightness for the (K)afflicted of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the (L)rod of His mouth,
And with the (M)breath of His lips He will put the wicked to death.
Also (N)righteousness will be the belt about His loins,
And (O)faithfulness the belt about His waist.

And the (P)wolf will [a]dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion [b]and the fatling together;
And a young boy will lead them.
Also the cow and the bear will graze,
Their young will lie down together,
And the (Q)lion will eat straw like the ox.
And the nursing baby will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
They will (R)do no evil nor act corruptly in all My holy mountain,
For the (S)earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh
As the waters cover the sea.

A Remnant Remains

10 Then it will be in that day,
That the (T)nations will seek the (U)root of Jesse,
Who will stand as a [c](V)standard for the peoples;
And His (W)resting place will be [d]glorious.

Hebrews 2:11-18

11 For both He who (A)sanctifies and those who (B)are being sanctified are all (C)of One; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them (D)brothers, 12 saying,

(E)I will recount Your name to My brothers,
In the midst of the assembly I will sing Your praise.”

13 And again,

(F)I will put My trust in Him.”

And again,

(G)Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.”

14 Therefore, since the children share in [a](H)flesh and blood, (I)He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that (J)through death He might render powerless (K)him who had the [b]power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through (L)fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not [c]give help to angels, but He gives help to the seed of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He [d]had (M)to be made like His brothers in all things, so that He might (N)become a merciful and faithful (O)high priest in (P)things pertaining to God, to (Q)make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was (R)tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to help those who are tempted.
