^12 (A)When your days are fulfilled and you ^(B)lie down with your fathers, ^(C)I will raise up one of your seed after you, who will come forth from ^[a]your own body, and I will establish his kingdom. ^13 (D)He shall build a house for My name, and ^(E)I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. ^14 (F)I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; ^(G)when he commits iniquity, I will reprove him with the rod of men and the strikes from the sons of men, ¹⁵ but My lovingkindness shall not be removed from him, ^(H)as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. ^16 (I)And your house and your kingdom shall ^[b]endure before ^[c]Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”’”

¹¹ And it will be that when your days are fulfilled to go to be with your fathers, I will raise up one of your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. ¹² He shall build for Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. ^13 (A)I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; and I will not remove My lovingkindness from him, ^(B)as I removed it from him who was before you. ¹⁴ But I will cause him to stand in My house and in My kingdom forever, and his throne shall be established forever.”’”

¹⁶ So now, O Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with Your servant David my father, that which You have promised him, saying, ‘^(A)You shall not have a man cut off from before Me who is to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your sons keep their way to walk in My law as you have walked before Me.’

³⁰ And so, because he was ^(A)a prophet and knew that ^(B)God had sworn to him with an oath to set one of the fruit ^[a]of his body on his throne,
