Psalm 146-149

146 Praise the LORD, O my soul!

I will praise the LORD during my life. As long as I have any being, I will sing to my God.

Do not put your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, for there is no help in him.

His breath departs. He returns to his earth. Then, his thoughts perish.

Blessed is he who has the God of Jacob for his help; whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Who made Heaven and Earth, the sea, and all that therein is. Who keeps his fidelity forever.

Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives bread to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners.

The LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD raises up the crooked. The LORD loves the righteous.

The LORD keeps the strangers. He relieves the fatherless and widow; but He overthrows the way of the wicked.

10 The LORD shall reign forever! O Zion, your God endures from generation to generation. Praise the LORD!

147 Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing to our God; for it is a pleasant thing and praise is comely.

The LORD builds up Jerusalem and gathers together the dispersed of Israel.

He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their sores.

He counts the number of the stars and calls them all by their names.

Great is our LORD, and great is his power. His wisdom is infinite.

The LORD relieves the meek and abases the wicked to the ground.

Sing to the LORD with praise! Sing upon the harp to our God,

Who covers the heavens with clouds and prepares rain for the Earth and makes the grass grow upon the mountains;

Who gives food to beasts and to the young ravens that cry.

10 He has no pleasure in the strength of a horse, nor does He delight in the legs of man.

11 The LORD delights in those who fear Him and expectantly await His mercy.

12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!

13 For He has made the bars of the gates strong and has blessed your children within you.

14 He sets peace on your borders and satisfies you with the flour of wheat.

15 He sends forth His Commandment upon Earth; and His Word runs very swiftly.

16 He gives snow like wool and scatters the hoary frost like ashes.

17 He casts forth His ice like morsels. Who can abide the cold thereof?

18 He sends His Word and melts them. He causes His wind to blow and the waters to flow.

19 He shows His Word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.

20 He has not dealt so with every nation; nor have they known His judgments. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD

148 Praise the LORD from the heavens! Praise Him in the high places!

Praise Him, all His angels! Praise Him, all His army!

Praise Him, Sun and Moon! Praise Him, all bright stars!

Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and waters above the heavens!

Let them praise the Name of the LORD; for He commanded, and they were created.

And He has established them forever and ever. He has made an ordinance which shall not pass.

Praise the LORD from the Earth, you dragons and all depths:

fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind — which execute His Word —

mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars,10 beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered birds,

11 kings of the Earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world,

12 young men and maidens, also old men and children.

13 Let them praise the Name of the LORD; for only His Name is to be exalted. His praise is above the Earth and the heavens.

14 For He has exalted the horn of His people — a praise for all His saints, for the children of Israel — a people that is near to Him. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD.

149 Sing to the LORD a new song! Let His praise be heard in the congregation of saints.

Let Israel rejoice in Him Who made him; and let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.

Let them praise His Name with the flute. Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.

For the LORD has pleasure in His people. He will make the meek glorious by deliverance.

Let the saints be joyful with glory! Let them sing loud upon their beds.

Let the high acts of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hands —

to execute vengeance upon the heathen and corrections among the people,

to bind their kings in chains and their nobles with fetters of iron —

so that they may execute upon them the judgment that is written. This honor shall be to all His saints. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD.

Ezekiel 37:1-14

37 The Hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the field, which was full of bones.

And He led me all around them. And behold, there were very many in the open field. And lo, they were very dry.

And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.”

Again, He said to me, “Prophesy upon these bones and say to them, ‘O you dry bones! Hear the Word of the LORD!

‘Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: “Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you; and you shall live.

“And I will lay sinews upon you, and make flesh grow upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, so that you may live. And you shall know that I am the LORD.”’”

So I prophesied as I was Commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a shaking. And the bones came together, bone to bone.

And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh grew upon them, and covered them above the skin. But there was no breath in them.

Then He said to me: “Prophesy to the wind. Prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these killed, so that they may live!”’”

10 So I prophesied as He had Commanded me. And the breath came into them, and they lived and stood up upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11 Then He said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the whole House of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried, and our hope is gone. We are completely cut off.’

12 “Therefore, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, My people. I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your sepulchers and bring you into the land of Israel.

13 “And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up out of your sepulchers,

14 “and shall put My Spirit in you; and you shall live; and I shall place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD.’”

Acts 3:11-26

11 And as the cripple who was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran to them, amazed, in the porch called ‘Solomon’s’.

12 So, when Peter saw it, he answered the people, “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? And why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

13 “The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers has glorified His Son, Jesus; Whom you betrayed, and denied, in the presence of Pilate when he had judged Him to be released.

14 “But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and desired that a murderer to be given to you;

15 “and killed the Lord of Life, Whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

16 “And His Name has made this man whole whom you see and know, through faith in His Name. And his faith has given to him this perfect health of his whole body, in the presence of you all!

17 “And now, brothers, I know that you did it through ignorance, as did also your governors.

18 “But those things which God had shown before by the mouth of all his Prophets - that Christ would suffer - He has thus fulfilled.

19 “Therefore repent, and convert, that your sins may be blotted out when the time of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

20 “And He shall send Jesus Christ, Who was preached to you before;

21 “Whom the heaven must contain until the time that all things are restored which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy Prophets since the world began.

22 “For Moses said to the Fathers, ‘The Lord your God shall raise up to you a Prophet, of your brothers, like me. You shall hear Him in all things, whatever He shall say to you.

23 ‘For it shall be that every person who shall not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

24 “Also, all the Prophets, from Samuel through those who followed, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

25 “You are the children of the Prophets, and of the Covenant which God has made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed shall all the families of the Earth be blessed.’

26 “To you first, God has raised up His Son Jesus. And He has sent Him to bless you, in turning every one of you from your iniquities.”

John 15:12-27

12 “This is My Commandment: that you love one another, as I have loved you.

13 “No one has greater love than this: when he lays down his life for his friends.

14 “You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.

15 “I no longer call you servants. For the servant does not know what his master does. But I have called you friends. For all things that I have heard from My Father, I have made known to you.

16 “You have not chosen Me. But I have chosen you, and ordained you, so that you go and bring forth fruits and that your fruit remains, so that whatever you shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it you.

17 “These things I command you, so that you love one another.

18 “If the world hates you, know that it hated Me before you.

19 “If you were of the world, the world would love his own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

20 “Remember the Word that I said to you, ‘the servant is not greater than his master’. If they have persecuted Me, they will persecute you also. If they have kept My Word, they will also keep yours.

21 “But all these things they will do to you for My Name’s sake, because they have not known Him who sent Me.

22 “If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin. But now they have no cloak for their sin.

23 “Whoever hates Me, hates My Father also.

24 “If I had not done works among those whom no other did, they would not have sin. Now, however, they have both seen and hated both My Father and Me.

25 But this is so the Word which is written in their Law might be fulfilled, ‘They hated Me without a cause’.

26 “But when that Comforter shall come, Whom I will send to you from the Father (even the Spirit of Truth, Who proceeds from the Father) He shall testify of Me.

27 “And you also shall witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.”
