Book of Common Prayer
103 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me! Praise His Holy Name!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits!
3 Who forgives all your iniquity and heals all your infirmities.
4 Who redeems your life from the grave and crowns you with mercy and compassions.
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things; and your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The LORD executes righteousness and judgment for all who are oppressed.
7 He made His ways known to Moses and His works to the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is full of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and of great kindness.
9 He will not always strive with us; nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heaven is above the Earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our sins from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
14 For He knows whereof we are made. He remembers that we are dust.
15 The days of man are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 For the wind goes over it and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 But the lovingkindness of the LORD endures forever and ever upon those who fear Him, and His righteousness upon children’s children
18 to those who keep His Covenant and remember His Commandments, to do them.
19 The LORD has prepared His throne in Heaven, and His Kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the LORD, His angels, who excel in strength! Who do His Commandment in obeying the voice of His word!
21 Praise the LORD, all His hosts; His servants who do His pleasure!
22 Praise the LORD, all His works in all places of His dominion! My soul, praise the LORD!
111 I will praise the LORD with my whole heart in the assembly and the congregation of the Just.
2 The works of the LORD are great and are sought out by all those who love them.
3 His work is beautiful and glorious; and His righteousness endures forever.
4 He has made His wonderful works to be held in remembrance. The LORD is merciful and full of compassion.
5 He has given a portion to those who fear Him. He will be ever-mindful of His Covenant.
6 He has shown the power of His works to His people, in giving to them the heritage of the heathen.
7 The works of His hands are truth and judgment. All His statutes are true.
8 They are established forever and ever and are done in truth and equity.
9 He sent redemption to His people. He has commanded His Covenant forever. Holy and fearful is His Name.
10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD. All those who observe them have good understanding. His praise endures forever. Praise the LORD
114 When Israel went out of Egypt, and the House of Jacob from the barbarous people,
2 Judah was His sanctification, and Israel His dominion.
3 The sea saw it and fled. Jordan was turned back.
4 The mountains leaped like rams, and the hills as lambs!
5 What ailed you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, why were you turned back?
6 You mountains, why did you leap like rams, and you hills as lambs?
7 The Earth trembled at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 Who turns the rock into standing water, and the flint into a fountain of water.
18 And, therefore, the LORD will wait, so that He may have mercy upon you. And, therefore, He will be exalted, so that He may have compassion upon you. For the LORD is the God of Judgment. Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
19 Surely a people shall dwell in Zion. In Jerusalem, you shall weep no more. He will certainly have mercy upon you at the voice of your cry. When He hears you, He will answer you.
20 And when the LORD has given you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, your rain shall be kept back no more. But your eyes shall see your rain.
21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.
36 “Therefore, let all the House of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ - this Jesus Whom you have crucified!”
37 Now when they heard it, they were pricked in their hearts, and said to Peter and the other Apostles, “Men, brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the Name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 “For the promise is made to you and to your children, and to all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
40 And he testified and exhorted them with many other words, saying, “Save yourselves from this perverse generation!”
41 Then those who gladly received his Word were baptized. And the same day there were added to them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued in the Apostles’ doctrine, and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul. And many wonders and signs were done by the Apostles.
44 And all who believed were in one place and shared everything.
45 And they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to anyone who had need.
46 And they continued daily, with one mind, in the Temple. And breaking bread at home, they ate their meals together, with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 praising God. And they had favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily, those who would be saved.
15 “If you love Me, keep My Commandments.
16 “And I will ask the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever;
17 the Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him. For He dwells with you and shall be in you.
18 “I will not leave you fatherless. I will come to you.
19 “Yet a little while, and the world shall see Me no more. But you shall see Me. Because I live, you shall live also.
20 “At that day, you shall know that I am in My Father; and you in Me; and I in you.
21 Whoever has My Commandments, and keeps them, is he who loves Me. And whoever loves Me, shall be loved by My Father. And I will love him and will show Myself to him.”
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, why do You show Yourself to us, and not to the world?”
23 Jesus answered, and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word. And My Father will love him. And We will come to him and will dwell with him.
24 “Whoever does not love Me, does not keep My Words. And the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s, Who sent Me.
25 “These things I have spoken to you, being present with you.
26 “But the Comforter (Who is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in My Name) He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance which I have told you.
27 “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor fear.
28 “You have heard how I said to you, ‘I go away, and will come to you’. If you loved Me, you would truly rejoice, because I said, ‘I go to the Father’, for the Father is greater than Me.
29 “And now have I spoken to you before it comes, so that when it has happened you might believe.
30 “I will no longer speak many things to you. For the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in Me,
31 “But that the world may know that I love My Father. And as the Father has commanded Me, so I do. Arise, let us go from here.”
