Psalm 117-118

A Psalm of Praise.

117 (A)Praise the Lord, all nations;
Laud Him, all peoples!
For His (B)lovingkindness [a]is great toward us,
And the [b](C)truth of the Lord is everlasting.
[c]Praise [d]the Lord!

Thanksgiving for the Lord’s Saving Goodness.

118 (D)Give thanks to the Lord, for (E)He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Oh let (F)Israel say,
“His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
Oh let the (G)house of Aaron say,
“His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
Oh let those (H)who [e]fear the Lord say,
“His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

From my (I)distress I called upon [f]the Lord;
[g]The Lord answered me and (J)set me in a large place.
The Lord is (K)for me; I will (L)not fear;
(M)What can man do to me?
The Lord is for me (N)among those who help me;
Therefore I will (O)look with satisfaction on those who hate me.
It is (P)better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in man.
It is (Q)better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in princes.

10 All nations (R)surrounded me;
In the name of the Lord I will surely (S)cut them off.
11 They (T)surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me;
In the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.
12 They surrounded me (U)like bees;
They were extinguished as a (V)fire of thorns;
In the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.
13 You (W)pushed me violently so that I [h]was falling,
But the Lord (X)helped me.
14 [i](Y)The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become (Z)my salvation.

15 The sound of (AA)joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous;
The (AB)right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
16 The (AC)right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
17 I (AD)will not die, but live,
And (AE)tell of the works of [j]the Lord.
18 [k]The Lord has (AF)disciplined me severely,
But He has (AG)not given me over to death.

19 (AH)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to [l]the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord;
The (AI)righteous will enter through it.
21 I shall give thanks to You, for You have (AJ)answered me,
And You have (AK)become my salvation.

22 The (AL)stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief corner stone.
23 This is [m]the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us (AM)rejoice and be glad in it.
25 O Lord, (AN)do save, we beseech You;
O Lord, we beseech You, do send (AO)prosperity!
26 (AP)Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord;
We have (AQ)blessed you from the house of the Lord.
27 (AR)The Lord is God, and He has given us (AS)light;
Bind the festival sacrifice with cords [n]to the (AT)horns of the altar.
28 (AU)You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, (AV)I extol You.
29 (AW)Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Psalm 112-113

Prosperity of the One Who Fears the Lord.

112 [a]Praise [b]the Lord!
How (A)blessed is the man who [c]fears the Lord,
Who greatly (B)delights in His commandments.
His [d](C)descendants will be mighty [e]on earth;
The generation of the (D)upright will be blessed.
(E)Wealth and riches are in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.
Light arises in the darkness (F)for the upright;
He is (G)gracious and compassionate and righteous.
It is well with the man who (H)is gracious and lends;
He will [f]maintain his cause in judgment.
For he will (I)never be shaken;
The (J)righteous will be [g]remembered forever.

He will not fear (K)evil tidings;
His (L)heart is steadfast, (M)trusting in the Lord.
His (N)heart is upheld, he (O)will not fear,
Until he (P)looks with satisfaction on his adversaries.
[h]He (Q)has given freely to the poor,
His righteousness endures forever;
His (R)horn will be exalted in honor.

10 The (S)wicked will see it and be [i]vexed,
He will (T)gnash his teeth and (U)melt away;
The (V)desire of the wicked will perish.

The Lord Exalts the Humble.

113 [j]Praise [k]the Lord!
(W)Praise, O (X)servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord.
(Y)Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forever.
(Z)From the rising of the sun to its setting
The (AA)name of the Lord is to be praised.
The Lord is (AB)high above all nations;
His (AC)glory is above the heavens.

(AD)Who is like the Lord our God,
Who (AE)is enthroned on high,
Who [l](AF)humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in heaven and in the earth?
He (AG)raises the poor from the dust
And lifts the needy from the ash heap,
To make them (AH)sit with [m]princes,
With the [n]princes of His people.
He (AI)makes the barren woman abide in the house
As a joyful mother of children.
[o]Praise [p]the Lord!

Isaiah 59:15-21

15 Yes, truth is lacking;
And he who turns aside from evil (A)makes himself a prey.
Now the Lord saw,
And it was [a]displeasing in His sight (B)that there was no justice.
16 And He saw that there was (C)no man,
And was astonished that there was no one to intercede;
Then His (D)own arm brought salvation to Him,
And His righteousness upheld Him.
17 He put on (E)righteousness like a breastplate,
And a (F)helmet of salvation on His head;
And He put on (G)garments of vengeance for clothing
And wrapped Himself with (H)zeal as a mantle.
18 (I)According to their [b]deeds, [c]so He will repay,
Wrath to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies;
To the coastlands He will [d]make recompense.
19 So they will fear the name of the Lord from the (J)west
And His glory from the (K)rising of the sun,
For He will (L)come like a [e]rushing stream
Which the wind of the Lord drives.
20 “A (M)Redeemer will come to Zion,
And to those who (N)turn from transgression in Jacob,” declares the Lord.

21 “As for Me, this is My (O)covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My (P)Spirit which is upon you, and My (Q)words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your [f]offspring, nor from the mouth of your [g]offspring’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from now and forever.”

Revelation 2:8-17

Message to Smyrna

“And to the angel of the church in (A)Smyrna write:

(B)The first and the last, who [a](C)was dead, and has come to life, says this:

‘I know your (D)tribulation and your (E)poverty (but you are (F)rich), and the blasphemy by those who (G)say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of (H)Satan. 10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be (I)tested, and you will have tribulation (J)for ten days. [b]Be (K)faithful until death, and I will give you (L)the crown of life. 11 (M)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (N)He who overcomes will not be hurt by the (O)second death.’

Message to Pergamum

12 “And to the angel of the church in (P)Pergamum write:

The One who has (Q)the sharp two-edged sword says this:

13 ‘I know where you dwell, where (R)Satan’s throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny (S)My faith even in the days of Antipas, My (T)witness, My (U)faithful one, who was killed among you, (V)where Satan dwells. 14 But (W)I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the (X)teaching of Balaam, who kept teaching Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, (Y)to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit acts of immorality. 15 So you also have some who in the same way hold the teaching of the (Z)Nicolaitans. 16 Therefore (AA)repent; or else (AB)I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with (AC)the sword of My mouth. 17 (AD)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (AE)To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden (AF)manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a (AG)new name written on the stone (AH)which no one knows but he who receives it.’

John 4:46-54

Healing a Nobleman’s Son

46 Therefore He came again to (A)Cana of Galilee (B)where He had made the water wine. And there was a royal official whose son was sick at (C)Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come (D)out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and was imploring Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death. 48 So Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see [a](E)signs and (F)wonders, you simply will not believe.” 49 The royal official *said to Him, “[b]Sir, come down before my child dies.” 50 Jesus *said to him, (G)Go; your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off. 51 As he was now going down, his slaves met him, saying that his [c]son was living. 52 So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him, “Yesterday at the [d]seventh hour the fever left him.” 53 So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives”; and he himself believed and (H)his whole household. 54 This is again a (I)second [e]sign that Jesus performed when He had (J)come out of Judea into Galilee.
