Psalm 24

24 The Earth is the LORD’s and all that therein is, the world and those who dwell therein.

For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the floods.

Who shall ascend into the Mountain of the LORD? And who shall stand in His Holy Place?

He who has innocent hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his mind to vanity nor sworn deceitfully.

He shall receive a blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

This is the generation of those who seek Him, of those who seek Your face. This is Jacob. Selah.

Lift up your heads, you gates. And be lifted up, you everlasting doors. And the King of Glory shall come in.

Who is this King of Glory: The LORD, strong and mighty. The LORD, mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, you gates. And lift up yourselves, you everlasting doors. And the King of Glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of Glory: The LORD of Hosts. He is the King of Glory. Selah. A Psalm of David.

Psalm 29

29 Give to the LORD, you sons of the Mighty. Give to the LORD glory and strength.

Give to the LORD glory due His Name. Worship the LORD in the glorious Sanctuary.

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters. The God of Glory makes it thunder. The LORD is upon the great waters.

The voice of the LORD is mighty. The voice of the LORD is glorious.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars. Indeed, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

He also makes them leap like a calf, Lebanon and Shirion like a young unicorn.

The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD makes the wilderness tremble. The LORD makes the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.

The voice of the LORD makes the hinds calve and discovers the forests. In His Temple, every man speaks of His Glory.

10 The LORD sits upon the floods; and the LORD remains King forever.

11 The LORD shall give strength to His people. The LORD shall bless His people with peace. A Psalm or song of the dedication of the House of David.

Psalm 8

O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your Name in all the world; Who has set Your Glory above the heavens!

Out of the mouth of children and infants You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies; that You might cease the enemy and the avenger.

When I behold Your heavens, the works of Your fingers; the moon and the stars which You have ordained,

what is man that You are mindful of him; and the son of man that You seek him?

For You have made him a little lower than God and crowned him with glory and worship.

You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands. You have put all things under his feet,

all sheep and oxen; indeed, and the beasts of the field,

the birds of the air and the fish of the sea; that which passes through the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your Name in all the world! To him who excels upon Muth Labben: A Psalm of David.

Psalm 84

84 O LORD of Hosts, how lovely are Your Tabernacles!

My soul longs, indeed, and fainted for the courts of the LORD! My heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God!

Indeed, the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for her; where she may lay her young by Your altars, O LORD of Hosts, my King and my God.

Blessed are those who dwell in Your House. They will ever praise You. Selah.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are Your ways.

They, going through the valley of Baca, make wells therein. The rain also covers the pools.

They go from strength to strength, until every one appears before God in Zion.

O, LORD God of Hosts, hear my prayer! Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah.

Behold, O God Our Shield, and look upon the face of Your Anointed.

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the House of my God than to dwell in the tabernacles of wickedness.

11 For the LORD God is the Sun and Shield. The LORD will give grace and glory; and He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

12 O, LORD of Hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You. To him who excels: A Psalm committed to the sons of Korah

1 Kings 19:8-21

Then he arose and ate and drank and walked in the strength of that food for forty days and forty nights, to Horeb, the Mount of God.

And he entered into a cave there and lodged there. And behold, the LORD spoke to him, and said to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

10 And he answered, “I have been very jealous for the LORD God of Hosts. For the children of Israel have forsaken Your Covenant, broken down Your Altars, and killed Your Prophets with the sword. And I alone am left. And they seek my life, to take it away.”

11 And He said, “Come out and stand upon the Mount, before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD went by. And a mighty, strong wind tore the mountains and broke the rocks before the LORD. The LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind came an earthquake. The LORD was not in the earthquake.

12 And after the earthquake came fire. The LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a still and soft voice.

13 And when Elijah heard it, he covered his face with his cloak and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

14 And he answered, “I have been very jealous for the LORD God of Hosts, because the children of Israel have forsaken Your Covenant, cast down Your Altars, and killed Your Prophets with the sword. And I alone am left. And they seek my life, to take it away.”

15 And the LORD said to him, “Go. Return by the wilderness to Damascus. And when you come, anoint Hazael king over Aram.

16 “And Jehu, the son of Nimshi, shall you anoint king over Israel. And Elisha, the son of Shaphat, of Abel Meholah, shall you anoint to be Prophet in your room.

17 “And he who escapes from the sword of Hazael, shall Jehu kill. And he who escapes from the sword of Jehu, shall Elisha kill.

18 “Still, I will leave seven thousand in Israel: all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

19 So he departed from there and found Elisha, the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yokes of oxen in front of him and was with the twelfth. And Elijah went towards him and cast his cloak upon him.

20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” Who answered him, “Go back. For what have I done to you?”

21 And when he went back from him again, he took a couple of oxen and killed them and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen and gave to the people and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and ministered to him.

Acts 5:34-42

34 Then a certain Pharisee named Gamaliel (a doctor of the Law, honored by all the people) stood up in the Council, and commanded to put the Apostles outside for a little while.

35 And he said to them, “Men of Israel! Be careful what you intend to do regarding these men.

36 For before these times, Theudas rose up, boasting himself to be somebody. Who was followed by a number of men (about four hundred) and who was killed. And all who obeyed him were scattered and came to nothing.

37 “After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up, in the days of the census, and drew away many people after him. He also perished and all who obeyed him were scattered.

38 “And now I say to you keep away from these men and let them alone. For if this counsel (or this work) is of man, it will come to nothing.

39 “But if it be of God, you cannot destroy it. For you would be found fighting against God as well.”

40 And they agreed with him and called the Apostles. And after they had beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the Name of Jesus. And they let them go.

41 So they departed from the Council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer rebuke for His Name.

42 And they did not cease to teach and preach Jesus Christ daily in the Temple, and from house to house.

John 11:45-47

45 Then many of the Jews who came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed in Him.

46 But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what things Jesus had done.

47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, “What shall we do? For this Man does many miracles.
