  166. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and the abominations that he did, and what was found against him, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah. And Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.
  167. These sought their registration among those enrolled in the genealogies, but they were not found there, and so they were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.
  168. From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the Lord. But the foundation of the temple of the Lord was not yet laid.
  169. And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments came forward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the directions of David king of Israel.
  170. And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever toward Israel.” And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
  171. But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers' houses, old men who had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice when they saw the foundation of this house being laid, though many shouted aloud for joy,
  172. be it known to the king that the Jews who came up from you to us have gone to Jerusalem. They are rebuilding that rebellious and wicked city. They are finishing the walls and repairing the foundations.
  173. And I made a decree, and search has been made, and it has been found that this city from of old has risen against kings, and that rebellion and sedition have been made in it.
  174. Then this Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundations of the house of God that is in Jerusalem, and from that time until now it has been in building, and it is not yet finished.’
  175. And in Ecbatana, the citadel that is in the province of Media, a scroll was found on which this was written: “A record.
  176. In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king issued a decree: Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the house be rebuilt, the place where sacrifices were offered, and let its foundations be retained. Its height shall be sixty cubits and its breadth sixty cubits,
  177. Ezra Sends for Levites

    I gathered them to the river that runs to Ahava, and there we camped three days. As I reviewed the people and the priests, I found there none of the sons of Levi.
  178. Those Guilty of Intermarriage

    Now there were found some of the sons of the priests who had married foreign women: Maaseiah, Eliezer, Jarib, and Gedaliah, some of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak and his brothers.
  179. And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' graves, that I may rebuild it.”
  180. Lists of Returned Exiles

    Then my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles and the officials and the people to be enrolled by genealogy. And I found the book of the genealogy of those who came up at the first, and I found written in it:

  182. And they found it written in the Law that the Lord had commanded by Moses that the people of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,
  183. You found his heart faithful before you, and made with him the covenant to give to his offspring the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite. And you have kept your promise, for you are righteous.
  184. Nehemiah's Final Reforms

    On that day they read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people. And in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the assembly of God,
  185. I also found out that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them, so that the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled each to his field.
  186. When the affair was investigated and found to be so, the men were both hanged on the gallows. And it was recorded in the book of the chronicles in the presence of the king.
  187. “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”

  258. For the Lord comforts Zion; he comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.

  263. You were wearied with the length of your way, but you did not say, “It is hopeless”; you found new life for your strength, and so you were not faint.
  264. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.
  265. Judgment and Salvation

    I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name.
  266. Thus says the Lord: “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and they say, ‘Do not destroy it, for there is a blessing in it,’ so I will do for my servants' sake, and not destroy them all.
  267. Also on your skirts is found the lifeblood of the guiltless poor; you did not find them breaking in. Yet in spite of all these things
  268. For wicked men are found among my people; they lurk like fowlers lying in wait. They set a trap; they catch men.
  269. Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.
  270. “Both prophet and priest are ungodly; even in my house I have found their evil, declares the Lord.
  271. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.

  284. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.
  285. A sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Cush, when the slain fall in Egypt, and her wealth is carried away, and her foundations are torn down.
  286. I saw also that the temple had a raised platform all around; the foundations of the side chambers measured a full reed of six long cubits.
  287. And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king.

But the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

  294. because an excellent spirit, knowledge, and understanding to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve problems were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Now let Daniel be called, and he will show the interpretation.”
  295. I have heard of you that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.
  296. Tekel, you have been weighed in the balances and found wanting;
  297. Then the high officials and the satraps sought to find a ground for complaint against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, but they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him.
  298. Then these men came by agreement and found Daniel making petition and plea before his God.
  299. My God sent his angel and shut the lions' mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”
  300. Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
  301. Then he shall turn his face back toward the fortresses of his own land, but he shall stumble and fall, and shall not be found.
  302. The Time of the End

    “At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book.
  303. Like grapes in the wilderness, I found Israel. Like the first fruit on the fig tree in its first season, I saw your fathers. But they came to Baal-peor and consecrated themselves to the thing of shame, and became detestable like the thing they loved.
  304. Ephraim has said, “Ah, but I am rich; I have found wealth for myself; in all my labors they cannot find in me iniquity or sin.”
  305. who builds his upper chambers in the heavens and founds his vault upon the earth; who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the surface of the earth— the Lord is his name.
  306. But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.
  307. Therefore I will make Samaria a heap in the open country, a place for planting vineyards, and I will pour down her stones into the valley and uncover her foundations.
  308. Harness the steeds to the chariots, inhabitants of Lachish; it was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion, for in you were found the transgressions of Israel.
  309. Hear, you mountains, the indictment of the Lord, and you enduring foundations of the earth, for the Lord has an indictment against his people, and he will contend with Israel.
  310. “Woe to him who builds a town with blood and founds a city on iniquity!
  311. those who are left in Israel; they shall do no injustice and speak no lies, nor shall there be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue. For they shall graze and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.”
  312. Consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Since the day that the foundation of the Lord's temple was laid, consider:
  313. “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.
  314. Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Let your hands be strong, you who in these days have been hearing these words from the mouth of the prophets who were present on the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
  315. The Lord Will Give Salvation

    The oracle of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus declares the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the spirit of man within him:
  316. True instruction was in his mouth, and no wrong was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.
  317. The Birth of Jesus Christ

    Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
  318. And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship him.”
  319. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
  320. When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith.
  321. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet: “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.”
  322. The Parable of the Hidden Treasure

    “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
  323. But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’
  324. And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing. And he said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’
  325. And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.
  326. And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.
  327. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
  328. And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour?
  329. And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
  330. but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forward
  331. The Crucifixion

    As they went out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. They compelled this man to carry his cross.
  332. and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.”
  333. And he said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they had found out, they said, “Five, and two fish.”
  334. And she went home and found the child lying in bed and the demon gone.
  335. And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it.
  336. And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
  337. And the disciples set out and went to the city and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
  338. And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour?
  339. And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him.
  340. Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none.
  341. And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
  342. And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger.
  343. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
  344. And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,
  345. he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
  346. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”
  347. When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.”
  348. And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well.
  349. Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.
  350. And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and told no one in those days anything of what they had seen.
  351. so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation,
  352. The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree

    And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
  353. Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,
  354. And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
  355. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’
  356. And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’
  357. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

  359. Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”
  360. So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them.
  361. And they went and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
  362. And when he rose from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow,
  363. And they began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.”
  364. A third time he said to them, “Why? What evil has he done? I have found in him no guilt deserving death. I will therefore punish and release him.”
  365. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
  366. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see.”
  367. And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together,
  368. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ).
  369. Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael

    The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”
  370. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
  371. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there.
  372. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.”
  373. When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”
  374. Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
  375. I Am the Resurrection and the Life

    Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days.
  376. And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,
  377. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.

  382. But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he preached the gospel to all the towns until he came to Caesarea.
  383. and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
  384. There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed.
  385. And as he talked with him, he went in and found many persons gathered.
  386. and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.
  387. And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’
  388. And though they found in him no guilt worthy of death, they asked Pilate to have him executed.
  389. and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened.
  390. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.
  391. And he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. And he went to see them,
  392. Paul in Ephesus

    And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples.
  393. And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.
  394. And having found a ship crossing to Phoenicia, we went aboard and set sail.
  395. I found that he was being accused about questions of their law, but charged with nothing deserving death or imprisonment.

  400. There the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing for Italy and put us on board.
  401. So they took a sounding and found twenty fathoms. A little farther on they took a sounding again and found fifteen fathoms.
  402. There we found brothers and were invited to stay with them for seven days. And so we came to Rome.
  403. Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”
  404. and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else's foundation,
  405. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.
  406. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
  407. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw—
  408. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.
  409. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.
  410. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.
  411. if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked.
  412. We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,
  413. And with them we are sending our brother whom we have often tested and found earnest in many matters, but who is now more earnest than ever because of his great confidence in you.
  414. But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!

  423. And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands;
  424. The Founder of Salvation

    For it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking.
  425. For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.
  426. For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest,’” although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.
  427. Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
  428. for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
  429. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.

  431. Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

    Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
  432. looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
  433. For you know that afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, though he sought it with tears.
  434. so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
  435. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you
  436. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.
  437. Final Words

    Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
  438. Judgment on False Teachers

    Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
  439. “‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.
  440. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God.
  441. and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
  442. and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

  450. Judgment Before the Great White Throne

    Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
