  16. “Tarshish was your merchant because of your many luxury goods. They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods.
  17. The men of Dedan were your traders; many isles were the market of your hand. They brought you ivory tusks and ebony as payment.
  18. Damascus was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made, because of your many luxury items, with the wine of Helbon and with white wool.
  19. Your oarsmen brought you into many waters, But the east wind broke you in the midst of the seas.
  20. ‘When your wares went out by sea, You satisfied many people; You enriched the kings of the earth With your many luxury goods and your merchandise.
  21. ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I will therefore spread My net over you with a company of many people, And they will draw you up in My net.
  22. ‘I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries which you have not known.
  23. Yes, I will make many peoples astonished at you, and their kings shall be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they shall tremble every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.
  24. “Son of man, they who inhabit those ruins in the land of Israel are saying, ‘Abraham was only one, and he inherited the land. But we are many; the land has been given to us as a possession.’
  25. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.
