  1. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was lying sick with a fever; and they immediately *spoke to Jesus about her.

  13. And his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was removed, and he began speaking plainly.
  14. And they were utterly astonished, saying, “He has done all things well; He makes even those who are deaf hear, and those who are unable to talk, speak.”
  15. And one person from the crowd answered Him, “Teacher, I brought You my son, because he has a spirit that makes him unable to speak;
  16. But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him, for there is no one who will perform a miracle in My name, and be able soon afterward to speak evil of Me.
  17. Parable of the Vine-growers

    And He began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard and put a fence around it, and dug a vat under the wine press and built a tower, and leased it to vine-growers and went on a journey.
  18. But regarding the fact that the dead rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
  19. And when they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit.
  20. Betrayal and Arrest

    And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, *came up, accompanied by a crowd with swords and clubs who were from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.
  21. But he began to curse himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak!”
  22. These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;
  23. So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
