Then David spoke to the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their relatives as the singers, with musical instruments, harps, lyres, and cymbals, playing to raise sounds of joy.

Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders.

In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’”’

According to all these words and according to all of this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

This was a small thing in Your eyes, God; but You have spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have viewed me according to the standard of a person of high degree, Lord God.

“Now, Lord, let the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant and concerning his house be established forever, and do just as You have spoken.

The Lord spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying,

“Go and speak to David, saying, ‘This is what the Lord says: “I extend to you three choices; choose for yourself one of them, which I will do to you.”’”

So David went up at the word of Gad, which he spoke in the name of the Lord.

Now, my son, the Lord be with you that you may be successful, and build the house of the Lord your God just as He has spoken concerning you.
